Description of the Tiverton vacation home rental
This is my home. It is an adult home - meaning there is glass everywhere. The property is an island with over an acre of land. The bridge was replaced with dirt/stone road. It is extremely private (no neighbors at the house). The front room has a vaulted ceiling. Half the room (right side of entry) has a full size bar with bar stools and a large dining room table with chairs (not a tight fit - roomy). The left side of entry has a couch & chairs, glass coffee table (French Provincial style), upright piano, large glass china cabinet. There is also a huge stone fireplace (not in use and not to be used). There are unobstructed windows on 2 sides of the room that face the water. Beautiful sunsets! The 3rd side faces the driveway & woods.
There is a full kitchen with a skylight as well as roll out windows facing water.
There are 2 bedrooms. One has a full size bed. The other has a queen size bed with a window that opens to the sun room at the other end of the house. There's a laundry room just before you reach the sun room.
The sun room has a small hot tub (may not be ready for the 2016 season which is why I dropped the price), couches, treadmill, stationary bicycle. All face the water. The sun room has sliding glass doors on 3 sides. Only 2 sliders are used as entry ways. Both lead to the "L" shaped deck where there is a gas grill, a glider, and a resin table with umbrella and chairs. There is a large patio at the other end of the house with some furniture. There is a small beach on one side of the property and cement steps leading into the water at the other end (house property area is pretty much round). Trees keep the place cool on hot days. There is also a canoe, paddle boat, and life jackets available for use. I will add a video later so you can get a complete picture of the place. It's about 15 min from Newport. It's about 15 min to Horseneck state beach in Westport MA. It's about 15 - 20 min from the Bristol bike path (beautiful path - goes through Colt state park - about 20 miles long).
There is a 1000.00 damage deposit. Prefer renters for a minimum of 1 week (7 nights). Contact me for more information on shorter stays. It's very quiet and private. Nice place for 2 couples to rent and split the cost. It's a luxury spot home.
If you have a pontoon plane/sea plane/float plane, you can land on the pond and moor it by the beach. You can fly in for your stay!

The laundry room has full size washer & dryer. There's also a clothes line.
If not familiar with Stafford Pond, it's huge - looks more like a lake. I think it's about 2 miles long. The other side of the pond is wooded (no building allowed). Not a busy boat pond. A few fishermen & you may see a jet ski or a motor boat (1 or 2). You can launch a boat/jet ski from the beach. Only people living on the pond can use fuel powered engines. If you have your own water 'toys', bring them. If not, you have the use of ours (canoe & paddle boat). It's about 30' deep in the middle.
Feel free to call me with questions. I have added photos of the interior & outside.
The rent is 1800.00 PER WEEK. Call to discuss nightly rentals.
There is another ad for sub letting during the off season - possibly a UMass Dartmouth professor from out-of-town who will rent it for the school season. About 20 minutes from University of Mass Dartmouth.
Visit: TALLLADY1.WIX.(usual 3 letters)/WATERFRONT-VACATION for photos and other details. The usual 3 letters for websites starting with 'c'. for some reason, they don't want me to allow you access to it...
I plan to add a video tour.

Call with any questions. This is the most private vacation destination. Very unique location. I'm listed on whitepages under David Fitzpatrick on New Boston rd in Fall River MA. area code508 then digits6768506
Please note: I need at least a week notice prior to arrival time in order to schedule my cleaning crew to come in. If more than 1 couple, I need a couple weeks since I'm doing some redecorating of one bedroom. If you can't make it this season, Please note my information, call or email me. I will add you to my list of interested people. I don't plan to keep this service so i won't be found here after 8/26. It's listed on another site I'm not allowed to mention so call or email and/or save all my contact info.

Area Information
Tiverton is a small town with a quaint village called 'Tiverton 4 corners'. It's near Little Compton which is also a small village with fantastic town beach, shops & beautiful spots. It's about 15 min from Newport & Providence. It's about 15 - 20 min from University Mass Dartmouth & Westport state beach (beautiful long beach with sand dunes).
When at the house, it seems like you're the only person in the world yet it's within 2 miles of shopping (grocery, clothing), restaurants, fast food, take-out, hardware stores, etc.
Providence is known for its restaurants, Water Fire (during the summer), free concerts on Fridays. It's the home of some prestigious universities including Brown, Providence College, RI School of Design (they have an art museum), unique shops, + more. It's close to Newport & its night life. Lots of clubs and restaurants on the water.
It's also about 15 min from the Bristol bike path. It's about 20 miles and passes through Colt State Park (beautiful) and other scenic spots.
A few beaches close by. Cape Cod beaches are about an hour away. Boston is 45 min - an hr if you want to abandon the quiet and go.

Deposits: Damage deposit of 1000.00. Returned via bank bill pay immediately after departure. This is the first time I have rented my home. I have been renting a small summer cottage on the pond for the past 4 years. It's a small simple place & great for families. It's literally ON the water. I've had wonderful experiences with guests there. It has been a thrill to get feedback on how much fun they had. This is the first time with my home but I've been renting vacation property for years.
Payment Options: Money Order, PayPal
Other Fees: Clean up after yourself and maid fee will be waived. This includes, strip bed(s) linens used, make pile of towels & all other items used that should be washed. Place sheets in washing machine. Load dish washer. Sweep/vacuum floors as needed (no major cleaning - just tidying after yourselves). Return all furniture to its place (if it was moved). I don't expect a 'scrub down'. If you don't want to do this, the maid fee is 120.00.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: can I rent at the last minute?
A: No. I need at least a 1 week notice of arrival so the place can be prepared for you. I use a cleaning service and they need time.
Q: What sets your home apart from other rentals on Stafford Pond?
A: My home is the only one that sits on property that was once an island but has had a dirt road added to connect to land. It makes this property the only truly secluded place. There are no neighbors. If you look at the map, the land sticks out onto the water while all other property is a distance back. Private and serene yet still close to shopping.
