great peaceful getaway

we enjoyed our stay at Buckys Hideaway. We spent 2 nights there, we were 8 in total. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. Everything was in working order and it didn't get too hot in August so as to urgently need air cond. because there wasn't any, only in the kitchen. The cabin is perched up high from the river and you can see it a little bit through the trees but the private entrance and short walk down to the river is really convenient. We had a good time kayaking, we liked the strip of river there because it's shallow enough so that you don't have to worry too much about anyone falling into deep waters. We really liked this place and highly recommend it, best price.

Bucky's Hideaway exceeded our expectations--perfect private location, simply cozy and clean. Not fancy, just wonderful. A long time rental, they truly get it! Everything our group of 5 adults needed was provided, plus more. We comfortably hosted a dinner for 9 inside, then ended the evening sitting on the deck listening to telling stories to the rhythm of the rushing waters below. Fully equipped kitchen was stocked even with spices, paper products, and food prep items. Every one said it was PERFECT! Our friends rented the other, companion cabin which made the wedding by the river a totally exclusive, private and wonderful time. In our free time, we set our chairs in the river and enjoyed the rushing cool water and the comfortable breezes, not believing it was actually a very hot summer day. Next time, we will bring our kayaks, canoes, and fishing gear, though you can rent these plus bikes and tubes nearby if you don't want to schlepp them. Can't wait to bring my family here. KUDOS to Laney at the rental office. She was kind, helpful, and very informed. What a surprise to walk to the Todd Mercantile to see all the local craft and art, and to meet Laney and Jim in person.

The cabin was clean and cozy. The wrap around deck gave us awesome views of the river and the mountains behind it. We hiked on trails around the cabin as well. The locals are so friendly. You have to meet Jack and Helen at the bakery!! We never could get the hot tub to heat above 89 and contacted the after hours number and left a message on "wendy's" answering service, but no one called or came out to assist us. Other than the hot tub it was very relaxing, very private (you even have your own private bridge that goes over the river to get to the property). Beds were comfy, bathrooms were in good shape too. I'm sure we'll book another visit here again!

"What a location...away from everything yet an easy walk to tiny "downtown" Todd. Lots to do without getting in the car. Storytelling, music and food at The Mercantile, yummy treats and yoga at the Bakery, excellent selection of bikes, canoes, tubes and fishing gear at River Girl, and special events at the park. The sights and sounds of the New River from the deck of River's Edge are especially relaxing. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Pleasantly surprised to find it nicer than portrayed on the website. The Railroad Grade road was a wonderful and easy bike ride, meandering along the New River for miles. Todd is my favorite location of all the Boone area locations. We'll be back." Ron & Patti, Melbourne Beach, Florida

Rivers Edge has everything you need for a peaceful getaway. Our bike ride along the Railroad Grade was magnificent. We rode all the way to Fleetwood and back to Todd. Stepping from the front yard into the New River to fly fish was amazing! Relaxing on the deck overlooking the river and a nice hot tub was perfect after a fun day. Thanks for sharing your beautiful mountain home!
