There are 2 baths, one with a tub/shower combination and washer + dryer. The other has a shower. Updated modern kitchen with island in the open living area, beautiful stone hearth and cathedral ceiling. Enjoy the pond views from the open living space that enters onto a large deck. At the water's edge there are kayaks, canoes + row boat for your use. There is a hammock and deck furniture for relaxing and the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor is just 20 minutes away. There is another cottage available if you are traveling with more than 8 guests. Acadia owns the entire eastern side of Hodgdon Pond. Swimmers enjoy the pond June through Sept. The recreational, cultural, and dining offerings in this area are phenomenal. Acadia National Park is at your fingertips. and there is a FREE bus transportation system!

The Park has nearly 32,000 acres of land which offers unequaled beauty and ocean front access. Over 55 miles of carriage trails provide hiking and biking with vistas of unrivaled beauty.
Area Information
Acadia National Park is at your door step for the best scenic trails in the area. The park owns the entire eastern side of Hodgdon Pond; therefore, it's totally undeveloped. There is a brook across the pond that rushes into the lake that is a wilderness wonder. The lake is only a mile long so there are no noisy power boats to disrupt the peace and quiet. The hustle and bustle of down town Bar Harbor where the cruise ships come in is a 20 minute drive and there are scenic views and trails within the 20 minutes. If this is your first visit to the island, I can almost guarantee it won't be your last.

Relaxing and enjoyable!

August 15, 2014

The house was great! enough room, very clean, plenty of basic material....The fact this was near the waterfront is also a great value since you can go walking or play with the kids. If you plan to reach Acadia State park for of few day, you may find far from the park. There is traffic and can took 60-90 min to reach the park. Overall - great place to live! but far from the park

Owner's reply:

I am amazed that it took 60 to 90 minutes to reach Acadia State Park, because there is the Long Pond entrance within a mile of Loon Lane where this cottage is located. Perhaps my guests are talking about down town Bar Harbor, which is normally 20 to 30 minutes away, The maps of Mount Desert Island usually have the park clearly identified. I suggest taking a look and see just where you want to be in the park. Thanks for the 4 stars! Margo

Sixth time at Pine Bluff. I could take it home with us! Hiked, biked, afternoon cruise on the Sea Princess, and lots of yummy food. Can't wait to come back.
