About the area

Our casita/condo is located at the Starr Pass/JW Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, a 1,400 acre exclusive five-star resort nestled in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains. Bobcat, deer, javelina, and coyote abound in this rich desert mountain setting. Standing at 2,700 feet high, Starr Pass enables its guests an easy view of the Tucson city lights and surrounding mountains - a beautiful stunning panoramic setting under Tucson's Southwestern starry nights. Although Tucson International Airport, the downtown attractions, and University of Arizona campus activities are within easy reach by car, the Starr Pass/JW Marriott Resort has a peaceful serene atmosphere. The challenging, picturesque Arnold Palmer Signature 27-hole golf course, a major part of the resort, blend effortlessly with the Sonoran desert landscape. If you are a golfer, you have come to the right place. We offer a 50 pct discount from the normal greens fee at Starr Pass. And we have a few special guest certificates for a free round of golf for you and friends. If you enjoy hiking, there are few locations in Tucson that rival Starr Pass with its desert trails throughout Tucson Mountain Park and adjacent majestic Saguaro National Park West - a truly unique environment.

“Excellent Private Getaway near the golf course”

Reviewed 20 Nov 2016

This condo was ideal for 2 traveling on business for an extended period of time. Each bedroom had a private bath. The kitchen is centrally located and parking was close to the front door of the condo. Only a 1/4 mile up the road is a wonderful 4 star restaurant and the center of Tucson is a just a couple miles away. The condo was decorated beauitfully and very comfortable.

“perfect month in tucson!”

Reviewed 2 May 2016

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful south-western themed condo. The weather was beautiful the grounds so nicely landscaped and much of it very natural. We like wildlife and had the pleasure of seeing many colorful birds that we don't see in Canada as well as the very fast and often elusive road runner! The owners of the condo were wonderful, there if you needed them and not there when you didn't! It actually felt like your own place. I highly recommend this rental for anyone that has a kinship with the desert and a smaller city where you can get around very easily without falling victim to the huge traffic jams of Phoenix.

“Location location location”

Reviewed 5 Mar 2016

My wife and I are avid golfers and the casita is right beside the clubhouse, exercise room and pool and the place is perfect. Lovely fenced (important) patio and Jack and Rosa were most helpful. Close to everything. Had family visit for two of the four weeks and everyone thought it was great. Unfortunately it's booked already for next year.

“Convenient Starr Pass Location”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2015

Nice casita, nicely furnished, although bathrooms and kitchen could use some updating. Conveniently located to pool, clubhouse and golf course. Worked well for two couples, provided plenty of privacy. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, etc. but could use some measuring spoons and large sauté pan. Owners very nice and easy to work with regarding arrangements, etc. Location is convenient to all Tucson area attractions. We enjoyed our stay here.

“A desert Oasis”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2011

My husband and two children visited Tucson in the heat of early summer but found a wonderful oasis at this rental. The condo was clean, tastefully decorated and quiet. The porch was beautifully shaded to enjoy breakfast on and even included a daily visit from a very friendly quail. This condo also came wonderfully full of extra towels, bathroom tissues, essential toiletries, dishwasher tabs, paper towel and even a bit of laundry soap for the one load of laundry I did - I would have hated to buy a whole container of soap just to leave it behind! The lovely pool was just across the street, the staff and other residents were always very friendly. We enjoyed the tennis courts in the morning and the pool the rest of the day, when we weren't out sightseeing! I wish we could have stayed two more weeks (we could only stay one)! The owner was very friendly, reasonable and accomodating. I would reccomend this rental to everyone.

“Best Vacation Ever”

Vacation Home Rentals has made a mistake with the review from Richard Cohee. This individual has never rented from me and his review should be ignored as it has been placed in the wrong account by Vacation Home Rentals. My property is NOT MoonRise at Starr Pass.
