“family vacation”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2016

I grew up in Tucson and decided to celebrate my 65th birthday by bringing my kids and grand kids there; we had 9 adults and two young children for a week. The stay was excellent - the hacienda was large and clean, with 4 good sized bedrooms (3 of which had TVs and great views of Tucson) 3 bathrooms, and a 5th room that was easily converted to a bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked - we had 5 of 7 dinners there, mostly eating on the outside deck overlooking the Tucson valley. The location is beautiful, in the foothills, and we happened to be there when the desert was in full bloom. The backyard has a very nice heated (84 degrees) pool and separate jacuzzi, and overlooks the entire Tucson valley - truly beautiful both at daytime and night. The house was big enough that there was excellent privacy and it was surprisingly quiet from one end of the house to the other. The kids appreciated the wildlife - including a visit or two from havalena, rabbits, many birds, a snake, and desert squirrels. The owner Michelle was very helpful and responsive, and greeted us with snacks and wine even though we arrived at a little after 10:30pm; she also allowed us to check out quite late our last day. If there could be any criticism, it might depend on what places one might want to visit; Old Tucson, the Desert museum and the Saguaro national park are all about a 40 minute drive (and well worth visiting); Sabino Canyon is only about 15-20 minutes away; University of Arizona is about a 30 minute drive; but I think the drive is well worth it given the ideal location in the foothills.

Owner's reply: Thanks to these guests for taking the time to write so nice and thorough a review. I've always known that this is a special property, but means much more coming from others.

“annual golf trip”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2015

The house we rented was all that we expected and more. The views from the solarium were unbelievable both day and night. The house was large enough that 8 men could stay and each one had a bed . The media room with the surround sound was the favorite room and came with some cd and dvd. Even though we didn't spend a lot of time at the house since we played plenty of golf everyday it was a wonderful place to come back to at the end of a long day. The only problem we encountered was it was very hot in the house since we did not get there until after 8 at night and the a/c had not been on all day, the temperature in the house was around 90 and the first night it did not cool off enough to be comfortable. After the first night the temperature was ok. I would definitely advise anyone looking for a once in a lifetime experience to stay here.

Owner's reply: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I will ask the manager to make sure the air conditioners are on during the hot months before people arrive. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review.

“A desert jewel”

For the second consecutive summer we vacationed here with our two sons, daughters-in-law and three granddaughters. What an amazing setting for a family gathering! The breathtaking views, spaciousness and elegance provided the perfect environment for some of our favorite moments which include relaxing on the deck savoring an early morning coffee while watching the birds feast on the fruit of the saguaro, listening to the laughter and giggles of our granddaughters as they frolic in the pool, sitting in the magnificent solarium enjoying the unsurpassed views of Tucson and surroundings and grilling on the spectacular poolside patio. This estate provides so many amenities, pool, media room etc., we chose to spend the majority of our time right here. The owner and property manager are extremely responsive to any questions and concerns and the condition of the property is evidence of their attention to detail. Thanks for another unforgettable experience! We will return as soon as possible!

“UNBELIEVABLE House!!!”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2015

I was looking for the perfect place to gather family and celebrate my folk's 50th Wedding Anniversary, well this house was BEYOND perfect... It was magical! We had five families, including children ages 2 through 18 and were able to gather together comfortably as well as move to our separate spaces when desired. There was ALWAYS something to do... between the lovely swimming pool, the pool table, the entertainment center, and most of all taking in the AMAZING views (with some lightening shows beyond compare!!) We were able to cook and grill every day, eliminating the need to eat out. We even had an Anniversary Gala event for my parents and the backdrop for the photos was literally "icing on the cake!" I can't say enough wonderful things about the house as well as the property manager, Charles, who was always available and willing to do anything in his power to make our stay even better. I can't wait to plan our next family reunion... I will definitely choose this property again.

“Wonderful home”

We really enjoyed our recent visit in this home. It has amazing views from every angle of the poperty. The care- taker made us feel welcome, and was readly available if we neeed anything. We were close to wonderful supermarkets, such as Trader Joe's and we really enjoyed healthy cooking in the kitchen and patio area. The lower level is very family friendly and we enjoyed playing billards, board games and relaxing. This unique home offers an unforgetable vacation experience. We would love to stay again.

Owner's reply: Many thanks to these guests for this wonderful review. We have always known this was a special house, but very glad when others appreciate it, too.

“AT Tribal House 2012”

The owners were very accomodating! We had 12 adults from across the USA & one from the UK. They were quick to respond to emails and always left you feeling like they wanted you to stay in their house. Janelle the caretaker was extremely helpful and willing to do what was necessary to make our stay the best. The pictures do not do the house justice - it is was more picturesque! We loved ending on long days of training by sitting by the fire pit, sipping wine and soaking in the wonders of Tucson! You cannot go wrong staying here! We hope to rent the house again!

“AWESOME!”

It was exactly as described. So much room, and beautiful scenery. Felt like we were living in luxury. Had everything you could ask for. Not one thing I can complain about. Plan on doing this again next year.
