“Homey get away”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2014

The cottage is clean and spacious and with an abundance of linens, kitchen supplies, games etc. The home is older and has the quirky layout of older homes (you walk through a bathroom to get to one bedroom), but is pleasant with delightful porches and two adjoining larger living spaces.. The owner lives next door and met us with brownies when we arrived. We kayaked on the lake--wonderful !--but while access to the lake is provided, you don't have an spot that's available for hanging out by the lake.

Owner's reply: Well Barb, there is now an area that is on the lakefront for our guests to enjoy :)

“Christmas getaway”

Reviewed 31 Dec 2013

We had a wonderful stay at Auntie Esch's Country Home! We arrived on Christmas Day and the owner had put up a Christmas tree just for us! What a special surprise for me and my kids! The home is very spacious and comfortable. We found all the comforts of home here! The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to make our meals (as we ate most of our meals at home). The home was easy to find and the location was perfect for our ski trips to Alpine Valley and our day trip to Lake Geneva. The home had a lot of cute country charm! The village is very cute and was pretty with everything being snow covered for the time we were there. The lake was frozen over and we saw the ice fishers with their ice houses set up on the lake, and snowmobilers zipping across the frozen lake. I can only imagine the beauty of this place in the summer time with the trees in full bloom, and even in the fall as the leaves begin to turn. We definitely want to come back to experience another season!! Thank you for some great Christmas memories!

“Our Annual girls weekend”

We hsf a great time at Aunt Esch's. More than enough room (when we went inside). Would highly recommend to all except the first weekend in August because we want it again. Price could not be better . Exactly what we all needed for 3 nights. Can't wait to return./

“Music Weekend”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2012

We stayed at Aunt Esch's for the concerts at Shadow Hill Ranch. It worked out so great for us. The house was so accomodating for our needs, had everything we could have wanted. We enjoyed the kareoke machine as well! Towels, sheets, grill, CD player...all the things we have been lugging back and forth in our previous rentals for this weekend were there! We brought in our food and drinks and that was it! We were so overjoyed at the little amount of work we had to do it made our whole time there so much more relaxing! We enjoyed time at the lake, songs around the fire pit, meals where everyone could sit with was perfect!

“Another Great Weekend!!”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2012

We had another great weekend at the Esch House. Everything was clean and comfortable. There's so much to do in Twin Lakes. This was our second time renting this summer and we'll be back in two weeks!!! Thanks Again!!!

“Great weekend”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2011

We rented this house since it was close to the Warrior Dash in which we had 8 people running. The house was less than a mile from the site so we didn't have to deal with parking. It was spacious, clean, well equipped, close to the lake, and the owners were great! We had 7 people stay at the house and could have comfortably fit more. We also had a cookout for 25 people after the race. There was plenty of parking, and lots of indoor and outdoor room. The firepit was a huge hit! Would definitely stay there again.

“Great Place to Stay”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2011

We had a great stay at the house. It is clean and well maintained. Plenty of space for all 6 adults. Even a pretty good view of the lake from front yard. Can't wait for our next visit.
