Description of the Tybee Island vacation home rental
This comfortable 3-bedroom, 2-bath house is in an ideal location -- on the south end of Tybee Island, just one block back from the beach and ocean. An upstairs deck is a great place for early morning coffee, and the downstairs deck is a wonderful gathering place off the living room. The house sleeps 8, with a queen and a king bedroom upstairs, a queen downstairs.and the addition of a Queen Easy Bed (available to put it where it works best for you), Three flat screen TVs and free WiFi will keep you connected.

While Butler is the main drag through Tybee, in this part of the island it turns into a two lane neighborhood street. The shops, restaurants, marine museum and the Pier are three blocks north. The City recently added a new sidewalk to the business center. The Back River is one block west with great kayaking and fishing. Twelve miles from historic Savannah, Georgia, Tybee offers the best of both worlds.

The property has a one-bedroom apartment on the back part of the house that is rented to a year-round tenant who helps keep an eye on the place. The laundry in the back of the house is shared with the tenant.

The second floor is accessed via a circular stair which adds character and charm, but can be inconvenient.
Area Information
Tybee is a small island with a big personality. You will find plenty to do in the area, from visiting the historic Tybee Lighthouse and Ft. Screven area with its Officers' Row of historic homes, to the rails-to-trails bike path near Ft. Pulaski. A kayak trip can quickly take you into the marshes and across to Little Tybee Island with its deserted white sand beaches and the largest marsh wilderness on the east coast. Look for turtle nests or book a trip with a naturalist to explore the hummocks or take a Dolphin tour. We love the little marine museum and its interpretive beach walks. Blue Dog Bungalow is almost at the end of the island, just a short walk to see the effect of a large tidal shift and the evening sun set over Little Tybee island. Some claim (on the internet) that this is one of the ten best sunset spots in the world. Bird life is plentiful all year long, but intriguing during the migratory season. And of course, drive 20 minutes to Savannah for a step back into history and additional culinary experiences.

Super Location - Great House

October 5, 2015

This was our 5th trip to Tybee Island, so we knew we wanted the south end of the island, and this location was perfect for our family of 5. Easy walk to downtown and the beach, very quiet area! Loved the screened in porch and the open balcony on top, the dining room off the kitchen is great. It was super clean and very comfortable. Will definitely rent this property again on our next visit. . We will definitely rent this property again on our next visit.

At the south end of the beach. Very close to everything. Although it is not right on the beach you can still sense the ocean breeze. We spent a lot of time out on the screened in porch. It is on the more residential street so it was more quiet than being on the main thru way. We walked to the grocery, restaurants, shopping and beach. Unless you are going to the north end or into Savannah you do not need your car. It is a little tricky getting luggage up the spiral staircase, but it is stated in the description that that is the only access to the second floor. Bedrooms are good size as are the bathrooms. I would rent here again.

Owner's reply:

It is always exciting when people enjoy the place we love. It us quaint and home like. It is our home away from home and good to hear that others feel that our renters feel at home there. We love the costal environment that Tybee makes so accessible.

I had the same broom problem... Not to be found! Everything was great... Did not realize until we got there that it was actually a duplex! Great tenants in the back half!!! Stairs were just bit narrow, but we made it up and down with no problem!

It was a good location for beach access & back river and we walked to most spots. The house fit our needs fine and I guess my only compliant is I couldn't find a broom to sweep up. We would rent again with you guys.

Owner's reply:

Thanks for the comment. We had the broom conversation at one point but it sliped away in our daily routine. Thanks for the reminder and thanks for letting others know you had a good experience. We try hard to make this happen.

I wanted to drop a note of thanks for the wonderful time my daughter, her friends (and I, as chaperone) had for her prom weekend. The house was lovely, they were exceptionally well behaved and I was able to relax and enjoy myself as well. Thank the owner for his kindness in allowing "prom goers" an opportunity to fulfill their dream!! Warm regards, Grace Diaz

Paul Bolster

Owner's reply:

I am very glad that you were able to do something special for your daughter. We are looking forward to being there in June with our grand children from Idaho. Not much ocean there.

"Lovely place to hang out and hang loose for a couple of days."

"Loved the house . . . had morning coffee on the deck, breakfast on the porch, and a couple of great seafood dinners on the side porch. Great location (best on the island) . . . walked to the beach, to the pier for a beer and dinner and biked to the Lighthouse." - Mary & John Pierolat
