“Tybee Time with friends and family”
we spent 4 days and nights at the fish house cottage over labor day weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. we went site seeing, to the beach which was a blast and we went to the lighthouse which we enjoyed tremendously, ate at good restaurants and took lots of pictures and have memories that will last a lifetime. the one thing that we liked the most was being able to come back to relax at the fish house cottage, we just loved the location, everything about the place was just wonderful, the back deck, to the kitchen, the bedrooms, living rooms, and just loved the way the place was decorated.we didn't watch any tv, the front porch is where we hung out the most. it is where we ate, drank, and visited with each other for hours. we have a lot of memories to last us a lifetime. It was just like Carole said it would be, and my family and friends are discussing on renting the fish house cottage come next spring. We can't wait til next year. Out of all the places I have been I love Tybee Island the best, I am drawn to that place and always will be. See you next year, thanks again Teresa
“We don't want to leave!”
My husband and I rented the Fishhouse for two weeks in July for a family reunion and came back in September and stayed until mid-November. We love this house. The beds are comfortable and the master bath has a jetted tub and jetted shower. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a great meal. Although it is so close to great restaurants you might want to eat out. It worked great for our big family this summer. The house is a classic Tybee house with antiques and great artwork everywhere. You will not regret staying here. The owner is extremely accommodating and responds quickly to any needs you might have. I'm sure we will be back!
Owner's reply: Thanks Kathy! So glad you enjoyed the FHC. I hope you and Bob will come back and soon...
“Pictures didn't do it justice.”
The moment I walked in the door all reservations I had about whether I chose the right place for us just fell away. We were all happy and did what we came for: we played and relaxed and ate good food. It's so close to the beach we never felt separated from the ones on the beach and the ones in the villa. This was the reason I chose My Ocean Villa. Perfect. The darling decor just just icing on the cake. Everything was clean and there was even coffee, laundry detergent with fabric softener sheets which surprised us. The only thing I would change would be to add another loveseat since I hogged the sofa and the chairs aren't very loungie. I guess I should have shared the sofa more.....maybe ; )
“Wonderful Family Vacation Environment”
Our family found the old-fashioned "Fish House Cottage" to be beautiful and conveniently located a couple of blocks from the gorgeous and tranquil Tybee beach. For us, the cottage was just amazing, furnished with antiques and grand wooden furniture. There was a huge open aired porch deck home to plush sofas and rocking chairs (even a pint sized one for our toddler), bright artwork and aged rusting beach trinkets nestled within a canopy of lush green ivy covering the surrounding walls. The porch was a fantastic addition to the cottage, providing plenty of peace and tranquility during the quiet downtime of our lazy lunches and nap time for the kids, and especially during the impressive evening thunder and lightning rainstorms we had. My husband would sit outside rocking back and forth in the rocking chair with our dog sitting beside him, as they watched the rain together. The kitchen was spacious, full of faded old mystical looking cookbooks and well equipped for any type of margaritaville party. The tiles throughout the kitchen area boasted colorful porcelain sculptures of birds and exotic fish and other creatures of the sea. The living room was dark and comfortable, with southern charms scattering the shelves and treasures you would find in your grandmother's house. Picture frames with photos of the owner's family were spread throughout the hallways and table tops all over the cottage, and best of all were the wood floors...maybe a southern thing, a Georgia thing, or even a Tybee Island thing, but the beautiful wood floors of the dining room and foyer to the cottage were covered in gorgeous painted murals that added such a personality to the place. In the foyer was a huge mural of a fish pond spanning the entire floor space of the dining room, intricately painted with dancing coy swimming amongst seaweed in the deep blue purple water. Our toddler was extremely taken with the floor murals and adopted a pastime of twirling herself over the pond in circles while singing until she was tired and would lay down in the middle of the pond. We took bubble baths with mountains of bubbles overflowing the huge bathtub, and evening after evening we snuggled up on the couches in the dim lamplight of the cozy living room. It was such a great place to relax and slow things down from a busy pace.
