From $152 / night
|Per night:||€150 - €225|
|Per week:||€1,000 - €1,425|
Pets allowed: No
As one of only 2 units in a detached, ancient fisherman's house, we are exposed to sunlight on all 4 sides, a rarity in Venice, and aren't privy to ambient neighbor noise, thus ensuring a very relaxing environment at all times.
A much-prized altana makes for a wonderful alternative to days spent traversing the city along charming canals and narrow alleyways, and provides for unique and spectacular rooftop views over the city's skyline. Whether used to greet the morning with a special breakfast or to toast the end of a magical day with an aperitivo, this Venetian symbol features prolifically in paintings by Canaletto and Guardi!
Inside, Murano glass chandeliers suspended from ancient beams highlight polished terrazzo floors, windows are swathed in sumptuous velvets and silks, and beds are piled high with embroidered linens; all exist harmoniously alongside a well-appointed kitchen, a sparkling bathroom with a very large walk-in shower area, and countless other modern conveniences for maximum comfort and pleasure.
*Available for a minimum of 3 nights' stay, but should 2 nights already exist between bookings, a 2 nights' stay is possible.*
Crowned by the magnificent dome of Santa Maria della Salute at the head of the Grand Canal, the area contains some of the most picturesque canals and campi in the entire city, and offers a wonderful respite after a day of visiting some of Venice's most famous attractions.
Filled with a variety of local shops and intimate bars, where you can enjoy a frothy cappuccino and warm brioche alongside our neighbours, and offering a wide array of family-owned restaurants for memorable dining, this desirable part of the city imparts a personal glimpse of everyday Venetian life.
Carefree children play in the local squares, lovers linger over drinks at nearby outdoor cafes, and daily market stalls simply overflow with an abundance of seasonal produce.
For a true flavor of Venice, this area has it all!

Reviews for this vacation apartment rental in Venice, Veneto Venice, Italy
Our stay in the beautiful Venetian Terrace Dorsoduro was as perfect as it gets! The neighborhood is charming, without gaggles of tourists and off the beaten path, which was a big plus at the end of a day of fighting the crowds. However Venice is so easily walkable that we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go within minutes. The Dorsoduro neighborhood has wonderful restaurants, churches and is a perfect place to walk. We celebrated our ten anniversary and had plenty of time to enjoy each other's company in this beautiful city. The apartment listing is absolutely spot-on. The apartment is charming and comfortable, yet has every convenience we could have wanted. The washing machine is a big plus! The bed was comfortable and there is wonderful ventilation throughout. We used the large assortment of travel guides and especially liked the Walking Tour guide. The apartment was clean as a whistle and the Welcome service was helpful, easy to meet and provided us with cell phone numbers should we need their services or help during our stay. We never needed them again, but it sure made us feel good that we had access to them just in case. I will definitely recommend this rental to any friends or relatives who are traveling to Venice. My husband and I plan to make another trip to Italy in the future and will definitely book the Venetian Terrace Dorsoduro while in Venice.
For the "real deal" we fully recommend this most wonderful and typical Venetian accommodation for your stay in Venice. We paid for the "Meet and Greet" which was very efficient and friendly. We could also ask questions on the best way of getting around Venice/back to the airport etc. As soon as we stepped into the apartment I felt at home. The accommodation is over two floors so you almost think you have the building to yourself. The upstairs bedroom is so cosy and this leads up to a small terrace area that you can greet the sun coming up or listen to the world go by. The kitchen was superb for cooking. We used the supermarket and local grocer nearby and the vegetables are so fresh you could just cook and eat these alone !! For the ultimate Veneitan local experience however you must use the "carrello" (wheeled "shopper") and hang up on the wall of the supermarket (5 mins away) while you shop with just their basket. What a great idea to stop the "big trolley-crater bang" we experience down at our local supermarkets. The things I loved the most in the apartment was that wherever I was (bathroom, living room, bedroom) I could hear the sound of the boats go by and the wash of the water up the canal's banks. If you have ever had a canal boat holiday you'll know what I mean. I loved the bells chiming in different locations at different times. And the hot croissants (to take away) from the little cafe, 2 minutes away, across the canal, were to die for. In fact that's my only complaint - we just wanted to stay in the apartment with our own freshly made coffee and the wonderful variety of croissants !! Or I just wanted to get back to the apartment at the end of the day and lie in the wonderful comfy bed in a beautifully cosy bedroom. All in all I would love to go back to, love to live in, this wonderful apartment.
We absolutely loved this home in Venice. It is impecable and the owners are lovely thoughtful people who provided a detailed book with instructions and suggestions for your time in Venice. Everything you could want was in the apartment including books on the city, rain boots, and umbrellas. The area while away from the main section is lovely, with its own wonderful restaurants and outdoor flea market. The vaparetta stop is within walking distance as is all of Venice. We can't wait to return.
This apartment is in a wonderful location - in a quiet neighbourhood but close to a vaporetto stop and a stroll away from the bustle and activity of Campo Santa Margherita. The apartment is on the top two floors of a building overlooking a canal and has been restored to a high standard. The main bedroom leads onto the roof terrace (altana in Venetian) which has great views over the rooftops. We thought the apartment was really comfortable and had everything we needed. Great shower, dishwasher, washing machine and plenty of cooking utensils. There's a big Billa supermarket on Zattere just by the vaporetto stop and it has everything you need. The little bar by San Sebastiano church was perfect for a quick breakfast of cappuccino and warm pastries. We loved the decor and the original art and really appreciated the comfortable sofas for lounging after a hard day's sightseeing. Thank you Mark and Deborah - we'll definitely be back.
We shared the apartment in May with friends, the facilities and location are perfect for up to two couples or a family or group of friends. We were pleased to see that all the basics you would have at home were already in the aparatment. The quality of furnishings were excellent and very comfy beds. The neighbourhood is excellent and we typically ate locally, there is a great choice of restaurants / cafes near by. Bar Ai Artisti is a great little cafe to sit in during the day in Campo San Barnaba, they serve good food. The little lane to San Barnaba is a very pleasant walk, just over the bridge at San Sebastiano and straight ahead (5 mins). Restaurant Pane Vino e San Daniele, just behind the apartment (50 metres) was very good, great food & wine and they really did help us to understand the menu. The Vaporetto stops on the Zatterre and the Grand Canal are only a very short stroll away and connect you to the rest of Venice, I would reccomend the ACTV pass, we had the 72 hour pass and covered much of Venice in 3 days. Would definately stay here again without hesitation.

We had a wonderful experience in Venice and much of it had to do with the Dorsoduro apartment. It was a very large apartment - so large that the second bedroom with twin beds went unused by us - so it would truly be a deal for those with three or four people. The neighborhood was very nice and convenient and it really helped once we figured out that we were much closer to the train station than we realized as taking the vaporetto over made it seem much more distant. Deborah checked in with us to make sure that everything was okay and they were very helpful when we had struggled understanding the shower on the first morning. They had many helpful materials and guidebooks and we took advantage of a few and enjoyed the nearby Piazza Santa Margarita. But the absolutely best part of the apartment for us was the roof deck which overlooked the canal. Each morning we went upstairs and enjoyed our breakfast as the water taxis went by. And in the afternoon we enjoyed a glass of wine. I posted sufficient photos that a friend of mine already asked about the address for his next visit to Venice. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I have been to Venice many times but have never rented. We always stay in Dorsoduro so when I found The Venetian Terrace I knew it was the place for us. This is by far the best rental we have ever had in all of Italy. The renovation was very thoughtfully done. There is nothing missing here. And the flat is comfortable - which is not always the case with rentals in Italy. You immediately feel at home. The location is most convenient in a beautiful area. I would suggest taking a land taxi from the airport as it brings you to a spot that is only a few minutes walk to the flat. If stairs are not an issue for you, I would not hesitate to rent The Venetian Terrace. The owners are extremely accommodating and everything went smoothly.
Calm, clean and great views from the altana

This neighborhood is great! There's no impenetrable crowds; just local people going about their business. There's great place for ciccetti, a rustic local osteria with traditional Venetian seafood, natural gelato, a gourmet food store for dining in the apartment, a greengrocer selling all kinds of fresh produce, a fishmonger in a nearby square... in short, you can move in and live like a local. The apartment is ultra clean, the kitchen equipped well enough that I could actually make restaurant quality food (ok, I was trained as a chef), the altana deck on the roof is great for an afternoon spritz - and you can watch people and boats pass below in the canal... Sunrise photography from the altana works great, too.

Living like a local

Deborah and Mark have obviously given their hearts and souls into creating what is a home-away-from home for them, but also an absolutely lovely and special "home" to be shared with their guests ( and I use the term "guest" because that's exactly how we felt staying there). The Venetian Terrace more than met our expectations. The apartment itself was to us, magical. It has been renovated to insure that anyone lucky enough to stay there would be comfortable and charmed. It's hard to say what we most enjoyed about the apartment but, if pressed, I think that the over-all beautiful decor, and the roof top deck would be our favorites. Deborah was always available to answer questions. When we experienced one problem, which was the lack of light in the entrance hall at our arrival, she made a real effort to speak with me personally on our return to be sure that she understood the problem so that it could be corrected for future guests. That meant a lot . Dorsoduro was to us the perfect neighborhood. It's just a twenty minute walk to Saint Marks , but a world away from the tourists and crowds. It's is is own little village and we felt, though we knew we were just pretending, like locals for those few days. Among the many perks of staying at The Venetian Terrace are the easy walk to the Vaporetto, the nearby Bila supermarket which allowed us to easily pick up any food we needed, and the many local shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. We were thrilled to be able visit t The Peggy Guggenheim Museum, and to have the opportunity to experience La Boheme in Venice. But, most of all, what we'll always remember is just walking and walking and getting a bit lost, but figuring out how to get "un-lost" which made us feel so good and so connected to this wonderful city. Would we choose to stay there again? Absolutely! In fact I'm yearning to go back with my husband.. Others have provided more information , but please contact me if you have any questions .Bottom line: If you have the chance to go to Venice just go! If you can stay at the Venetian Terrace you won't be sorry. In fact, you'll be delighted! Do know that there are many stairs to the apartment so this would not be a good choice with anyone with physical disabilities. Jo

Perfect for a magical holiday

We absolutely loved our holiday in Venice and staying at the Venetian Terrace was such a good choice. The fact that it's away from the busy centre of Venice is absolutely to its advantage. The location in Dorsoduro has a local village type atmosphere and the 20/25 minute walk into the centre is very pleasant. We loved sitting on the altana listening to the nearby church bells chiming, viewing the stars above (our son found a useful night sky app) and beautiful canal beneath. Travel to the apartment from the airport was also much easier (and cheaper) than to other areas in Venice. The nearby Billa supermarket (approx 5 mins walk) on the Zattere has a good selection of foods, in particular the ready prepared canap?s were convenient. The beds are extremely comfortable and the air conditioning works very well - and is quiet! There is a fabulous collection of guidebooks to browse through. We had a little problem with the Wi-fi but learnt that it needed to be rebooted regularly. Overall this apartment would be hard to beat. Many thanks to Deborah and Mark for all their hard work in equipping and furnishing the apartment to such a high standard and for their help with our holiday enquiries. We look forward to returning soon.

If you want to be part of true Venetian life, whilst being within 20 minutes walk of the main attractions, this apartment is perfect! It has been very thoughtfully equipped, with comfortable beds, air-conditioning for the hotter months and heating for the cooler ones, Wi-Fi for those who want to keep in touch with things and a fantastic roof terrace for those who prefer to while away a few hours with a glass of cold wine or a morning coffee watching the boats and people on the canal down below. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a supermarket just five minutes walk away, plus regular local markets to sample. With the Zattere just five minutes walk away, there are plenty of water-front restaurants and ice-cream parlours to try and a vaporetto stop for those wanting to explore the waterways of Venice and the Lido. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but be aware that there are two flights of stairs to the apartment so pack bags that you'll be able to carry.

Our family had a wonderful three night stay at the Venetian Terrace. Occupying the top two floors of a standalone three storey building and facing out over a canal it felt quintessentially Venetian. The restoration of the apartment is to the highest standards with beautiful polished stone floors, sympathetic furnishings and a modern kitchen. The roof top balcony is perfect for coffee in the morning or a few glasses of vino at night. There is great wifi and wonderful guidebooks and literature on hand to borrow during your stay. As well as a very useful visitors guide. The location is removed from the hustle and bustle, but still only a twenty minute walk from everything you want to see. It is only a very short walk from the water bus and a couple of stops from the main transport hubs. The neighbourhood is well serviced by local bars, restaurants, a supermarket and genuine artisan shops. An absolute highlight of our so far thirty days travel through Europe, wil regard to accommodation. Thank you.
Just perfect !!

This beautiful apartment is exactly as described and in a fantastic location. Everything you may need is close by......bars, restaurants, supermarket, vaporetto etc, yet within 5 minutes walk you are exploring the narrow streets and canals of Dorsoduro and experiencing the real heart of the city. Mark and Deborah have provided everything you could wish for - a wonderfully equipped kitchen, extremely comfortable beds, a lovely lounge to kick off your shoes and relax after a long day sightseeing, the beautiful altana with amazing views.........and even the small things that make a huge difference such as pots of fresh growing herbs to use when you cook, umbrellas in case it should rain and games such as dominoes and charades. Wi-fi is also available in the apartment. We spent a week here and with every day that passed we loved Venice more and more, it's so nice to look beyond the usual tourist haunts and find your own favourite places. Dorsoduro is most definitely one of the best areas of the city in our opinion and we truly feel that you won't find anywhere nicer to stay than this beautifully restored apartment. We would also like to thank Deborah & Mark for their much appreciated help with any queries we had both before and after booking the holiday, they have a wealth of knowledge about the area and are more than happy to share it. This is a very special holiday home and we hope to return very soon.
