Description of the Venice vacation apartment rental
Dream of Venice

“If you read a lot, nothing is as great as you’ve imagined. Venice is—Venice is better.”
~ Fran Lebowitz

After a long day of exploring in Venice, imagine what a pleasure it will be to return home to your own apartment in Castello, La Serenissima’s most authentic neighborhood. You’ll get a taste of the real Venice while enjoying a can’t-miss location.

Our comfortable apartment provides the perfect home base for exploring the city, and a welcome respite from the crowds. It’s well stocked with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Here are some comments from recent guests:

“Thank you so much for providing us with a perfectly wonderful place to stay!”

“Our stay was amazing! The flat was wonderfully cozy, and in a wonderful location.”

“We enjoyed staying here tremendously! The location could not be better.”

“Thank you for all your help and advice. It is lovely to feel so at home when in fact we are on the other side of the world.”

The apartment is one building back from the Riva dei Sette Martiri, a wide, sunny walkway that runs along the waterfront all the way to St. Mark’s Square, just 10 minutes from your door, but a world away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist track. It's a short, picturesque walk to Venice’s major sights, as well as some of the city’s lesser-known charms, and close to both the Arsenale and Giardini vaporetto stops.

Our quiet, light-filled apartment has a comfortable and efficient floor plan. The apartment is about 600 square feet. The spacious “matrimoniale” bedroom features a romantic canopy bed, a desk, and lots of storage for your clothes. There’s a small room that can be used as an office or a small single bedroom, and a little loft, accessed by a spiral staircase, with a desk, some games, and bookshelves full of guidebooks and novels… a perfect nook to hide out and read.

The airy open kitchen and living room area are perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine while your dinner simmers on the stove. The kitchen has good pans and knives, a four-burner stove, refrigerator and freezer, microwave, and a dishwasher. Everything you need to prepare meals is at hand, once you're done shopping for fresh fish and produce, either at the famous Rialto market or the local markets on nearby Via Garibaldi, where you'll find all the local shops and services you need. The living room couch also folds out to a double bed, so the apartment can sleep four. There is one bathroom with a shower over the tub.

The top-floor flat is up 58 steps, with no elevator, and boasts lovely views from every window. We have wifi and a land line.

Please note that we have a three-night minimum stay requirement and we do not make exceptions.

Marcel Proust wrote “When I went to Venice, my dream became my address.” So why not find yourself at home in Venice?
Area Information
The apartment is one building back from the Riva dei Sette Martiri, a wide, sunny walkway that runs along the waterfront all the way to St. Mark’s Square, just 10 minutes from your door, but a world away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist track. It's a short, picturesque walk to Venice’s major sights, as well as some of the city’s lesser-known charms, and close to both the Arsenale and Giardini vaporetto stops.
Attractions within Walking Distance
Venice is very small, and you can easily walk to major areas of interest like St. Mark's Square in about 10 minutes. Our apartment is very convenient for the Biennale as well.
Nearby Restaurants
Via Garibaldi is lined with good local restaurants, as well as small shops selling cheese, fruit, and bread. Eat in or out as you desire.
Transportation
Our apartment is very close to two vaporetto stops, and a sort walk to several others, so you can readily take a wide variety of vaporetto lines that will connect you to the entire city and lagoon, plus the airport.
Best Time of the Year to Travel
Venice has its attractions year-round. In winter, the city is quiet and mostly empty of tourists, so you'll experience the mystery and silent beauty of the place. Spring sees warmer weather but not too many people. Although summer is very busy indeed, our neighborhood is a welcome respite from the crowds, and besides, hot weather makes it easy to justify that extra gelato. Autumn is beautiful, with fall foliage in the park next door, crisp evenings and tranquil days.
