Description from owner

This place is cool!

Situated at a prime location on Faria Beach, our family has been creating memories in this California classic beach "cabin" for over seventy years. Although mostly reserved for family and friends, we do consider occasional rentals. Completely and lovingly refurbished, remodeled, and tastefully decorated to maintain its character and charm, this three bedroom, 2 1/2 bath oceanfront home also has every amenity to make your stay comfortable. Perfect for families, girls' getaways, surf, kayak, SUP vacations, romantic escapes and retreats.

From the kitchen, living room, dining area, master bedroom and expansive deck enjoy views of the Channel Islands or catch a glimpse of a pod of dolphins cruising along the surf. This is a beachfront property. Literally no more than a dozen steps from the deck to the beach. Great location for surfing, stand up paddle boarding, boogie boarding, kayaking, swimming, fishing and tidaeapooling. A few steps (or strokes) south is Mondo's cove, rated one of Southern California's best spots for beginner and longboard surfing and a favorite location for surf instructors and schools. For more advanced surfers, Pitas Point, a few steps to the north, offers more challenging rides. The coastal bike path sits just outside the front gate, and access is provided to the private community tennis court. The home is located directky in the center of the main strip of Faria. We are not adjacent to public access pathways or near areas where there is a high volume of beach goer parking.

Sleeps 6. Master has queen bed with bath en-suite. Second bedroom has two twins with a half bath en-suite. Cow-a-"Bunk"-a room has two sets of bunks (4 twins). These are sturdy custom bunks with custom mattresses. This room is adjacent to a bath with double vanities.

Sorry, no pets, no exceptions :(

Check out the video link below for a better feel of the house.

Beds: 1 Queen Bed, 6 Twin Beds, 1 Crib

About the area

The community of Faria Beach is a private beach located at the center of a seven mile stretch of old Pacific Coast Highway on the Rincon, gateway to the Central Coast. Changing sand levels and tides, along with the seasons create a dynamic beach scape. High tides can be thrilling, while low tides reveal sandbars and tide pools waiting to be explored. A five minute drive to the south is Ventura, where you'll find unique shopping, dining and entertainment in trendy old town. Foodies will love it and there is a bustling music scene! The Ventura Harbor also offers shopping and dining along with opportunities to sign up for Channel Islands, whale watching and fishing excursions. Twenty minutes to the north visit Santa Barbara and wine country, or check out the beautiful Santa Barbara zoo. The artists' enclave of Ojai is 15 minutes inland along with it's destination spa and golf resorts. For additional photos of the check out the Faria Beach community page on FB.

“The most relaxing days of my life”

Reviewed 9 Mar 2017

A very special and relaxing place. The most gracious host. The sound of the waves. The simplicity and vintage charm was perfectly preserved and enhanced in the updating of this classic California beach house with modernized--and immaculate--kitchen and baths. The dream beachfront experience in any weather/season. It's especially beautiful in winter to watch the sunsets over the water and walking at low tide. Easy access, great walks, and close to the charming town of Ventura. I will definitely go back again if I'm so lucky.

“Perfect family reunion”

This place was amazing. The location was perfect. We watched dolphins and sea lions from the deck while we had our morning coffee. The house was amazingly well stocked - from the kitchen to the beach supplies in the garage. Our family is already planning to return next summer!

“Perfect for quiet relaxation”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2016

Our family stayed here for a week, my husband and myself for relaxation , our daughter and son in law to surf. This lovely home met all of our expectations. The house is warm an comfortable and perfectly appointed. You can go directly from the deck into the ocean or just hang out and watch the wildlife. We will be back for another stay as soon as our schedules permit. Thanks Heather

“Oceanfront Hidden Gem!!!”

Another wonderful stay at this great oceanfront oasis! We can't say enough about the home and the owner, Heather. She makes this rental truly feel like your home during your stay. We love this place and you will too! Words can't accurately describe the experience. We will be back again without a doubt. Thanks again Heather. You rock!!

“Great place on the ocean!”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2015

Family of four had a great time at this house. It was very hot weather with no air conditioning except for the ocean breeze. Nights were comfortable with the fans the owner directed us to. The house is very cozy and has every amenity you would need. At high tide waves crashed up behind the house spraying the deck which we loved. Sunrise and sunsets were very cool and we were able to cruise the beach at low tide. Lots of little tidal pools. We ate in most of the time and grilled fresh fish from the Santa Barabra Harbor Fish Market on the BBQ out back. They had a great selection of fish and we had Pacific Halibut, seared albacore, swordfish, salmon, and their fresh Wakame salad. We surfed, sup'd, and lounged in the ocean to beat the unusual heat. Ventura is right down the road heading south, and Santa Barbara is a few miles to the North. Great location and great owner. Thanks Heather!!!

“Beach House Getaway”

Reviewed 3 May 2015

My family rented this house in order to get some rest and relaxation after our daughters wedding. I wanted a nice deck close to the beach. I got both of these in this house. The house is not fancy but very comfortable. The deck is large and right on the ocean. You are steps to the beach. There is some walking area on the beach in the morning and afternoon, but you cannot walk to town from the beach. You must drive. If you want a quiet comfortable beach house getaway to rest and relax., this is the place. We loved our time there and felt very relaxed and rested when we left.

“Amazing weekend!”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2014

We spent a long weekend in Faria beach at the end of September. The house was just perfect for our family! Beautiful location, right on the water, & a lovely deck. The home owner was very helpful & everything we needed was in the house! We will definetly want to return & make more family memories here in the future!

“The Perfect Beach House”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2014

I grew up in Ventura and come back each year to see friends and family. This year we wanted to stay at my favorite beach area and have family and friends come hang out with us. We found the perfect place! Everything about this house was perfect... the location, the deck, the floor plan, the rooms, the super comfy beds, the toys and the treats. We were so happy to see wine, cheese, treats and breakfast items our first night so we could just show up and relax and think about grocery shopping the next day. The beach was amazing, perfect sand and waves (boogie boards and sand toys provided) but calm enough at times to paddle out in the provided kayaks. We saw dolphins, seals, dive bombing pelicans, and some amazing blue bottlecap jellyfish (non stinging type). We walked the beach every morning and evening and couldn't find a better house we'd rather stay. All linens and blankets where plush and comfy. We slept better than we do at home. The kids (ages 10 & 13) were in the water from morning until night (literally had to shine flashlights on them to come in) and their Ventura cousins who often stayed with us were right there with them and never wanted to leave. Most nights were ended with a campfire on the beach with s'mores. Oh, and I should mention that it has great TV's in every room and Wifi which are teenager requirements. We will be back for sure and this is the only house we'll consider staying at. Thank you Heather for making the perfect vacation experience!
