Description from owner

Beach Bird is a 2500 sq.ft. nautical theme beach home in Sandbridge Beach. We are set up for weekly rental from Sat. to Sat. There is an enclosed backyard with the solar-heated pool and a comfortable gazebo and patio set to watch the pool in comfort. We did a major remodel in 2010 of kitchen with new cabinets and granite counter tops and marble baths. The front deck is on the second floor across the front of the house and has its own patio set. The rear deck is by the pool and covered with a gazebo so you can watch the pool in comfort from the second patio set. We have two of most everything; heat-pumps, refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, gas grills to ensure a trouble-free vacation. We have a full set of baby and toddler supplies including porta-cribs, pak-n-play, strollers, high-chairs, etc. We supply most sundries such as paper towels, TP, laundry and dish soap, spices, etc. to make your vacation more convenient.

We can supply a full set of linens including beach towels for the nominal amount of $10/person. We have a basketball goal and sand volleyball court and are also set up for pool volleyball. Inside in the rec room we have a ping-pong table where all ages can enjoy playing together. There is a queen sofa bed and double futon in the rec room. We are located in the quiet, low traffic North end of Sandbridge. The beach is a short walk away, 500 feet, and the path is right across from my driveway.

About the area

Sandbridge Beach is a good base for touring the historic triangle: Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and Yorktown. We have had sand replenishment every two years which keeps us in the top ten list. Back Bay National Refuge is at the southern end of Sandbridge and offers miles of hiking trails all the way to North Carolina. In fact you can walk the beach to NC. There is ample shopping and restaurants in the Redmill malls ten miles back on Sandbridge Rd. We are a short 20 minute drive from Rudee Inlet and downtown Virginia Beach with jet ski rentals, fishing boats, parasailing, dolphin and whale watching. Just before is the Virginia Aquarium including a touch tank and IMAX, a water park, and go-karting. Downtown Norfolk has Waterside with restaurants and the Battleship Wisconsin, about 30-35 min. Another 30 min. brings you to the Air and Space Museum which has several kid-friendly experiences. Thirty minutes west on I-64 brings you to World-renowned Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg.

“Great Weekend at Beachbird!”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2016

Thank you for a truly memorable weekend at Beach Bird. My family, friends and myself enjoyed the spacious home. Plenty of space to relax, be by yourself if you wanted to be and have all the comforts of home. The people who stayed downstairs said they never heard any noise from upstairs or from the other rooms. The kitchen was stocked with every type of pan, bowl, utensils that we needed for our cooking. We had one day to enjoy the warm sunshine because it was chilly and windy; but of course you had no control over that. We took many pleasure walks in the area, visited a few of the shops but mostly chilled at your vacation home. I would recommend this beach house to my friends or those interested. Thank you for opening it up early for me to use and share with my family. It was nice having everyone in one large space versus my cramped condo. I will be back when it is warmer and hopefully the pool is open. My family and friends came from CT and DE; they enjoyed the house and would love to come back also!
