This 1/1 small studio (aka Mstr Bdrm w/ efficiency kitchen) is located in beautiful Discovery Bay Condominium and was remodeled in January 2009. It's a corner condominium unit on the cool side of the building that offers very scenic and private views of the mountains. So you can leave your curtains open all day and all night if you like and enjoy total privacy; i.e., no one can see you inside the unit.

This unit has a Condo-hotel style entry (aka lockout door) i.e., there is 1 main door, leading through a hallway, to 2 separate and private units on the inside. There is also a common washer/dryer located in the unit which makes it very convenient to do your laundry (for free).

This unit maybe the size of a nice hotel room, but it feels larger because the ceiling height is 9-1/2 feet tall! This is a very nice feature only found in units located on the 10th floor, and it was designed this way because the pool deck is just one floor up. This means you can take the stairs instead of using the elevators, which is easier and more private.

This unit has 1 queen bed, a large dresser, night stand, 21" LCD-TV, DVD player and stereo system that also pipes music into the bathroom. So bring your iPod or other music device. The full bathroom has a tub/shower combination and cultured marble counter tops. This room also has an "efficiency kitchen" with a mini-refrigerator, hot plate, toaster-oven, and a fully stocked food prep area built into one of the closets. In addition, there is a large computer desk, HP-Printer, and desk chair provided; and the entire unit comes come free high speed, wireless DSL; and free local and long distance calling to the USA & Canada!

Other amenities at Discovery Bay include a very clean pool, a large Jacuzzi that seats 8-10, and a very large sun porch area. There are also two exercise rooms next to the dry-sauna and pool area, and on the 5th floor there are 5 high-output BBQ grills that are always clean, and each one has a large picnic table that seats 8.

Security is very good in this building. We have 24/7 patrols and a guard is always available in the lobby or by telephone. This unit also uses a modern combination lock set-up so you don't have to use keys to come-and-go! Just tell the landlord what 4-digit combo you want and it would be programmed and ready to do when you arrive and then later erased when you leave.

Owner's Commitment:

The owners and/or their agent will do everything possible to ensure your stay is enjoyable. In addition, we can give you tips on where to go in Oahu for sightseeing, where to find entertainment, etc. Our goal is for you to enjoy your stay so much you will gladly leave positive comments in our guest book.

Rental Fees & Other Conditions:

Average rental fees total between $85-$180/day depending on the season. This includes a set of bed linens, bath towels, jucuzzi towels and light cleaning services when you vacate the unit. A $200 security deposit and $100 cleaning deposit will be collected in advance or can you can hold this amount open on a separate credit card transaction. This security and additional cleaning deposit will be refunded to you within 7 days of departure if no damage is done to the unit and providing no major cleaning service is required. Tax is 11.962%. The building covenants require a lease agreement to be written for 30 days or more. If your reservation is made prior to 60 days from your arrival date, you can reserve your unit by just sending $300 to cover the deposits. Within 60 days we will ask for a 50% booking deposit; and within 45 days full payment is due. No refunds will be permitted within 60 days from 1st scheduled arrival date. Credit cards are accepted through PayPal and 3% credit card processing fee will apply. Wire transfers are also acceptable or you can make deposit to the owners Wells Fargo Bank account if you have a Wells Fargo Bank in your area. Sorry we can not accept "certified checks" or money orders.

Cancellations received in writing before 60 days of reserved arrival date will receive a full refund. No refunds inside of 60 days unless property is re-rented. Reschedules and extended stays are not permitted without owner's approval in advance.

Car Rental Option:

For $200/week (plus tax) you can rent a 2009 Nissan Altima. Please make this request when you make your reservation. Also, National & Alamo Rental Car offices are located in the Discovery Bay office complex down stairs from your unit.

Discovery Bay is an upscale condo complex with 24 hours security and well maintained common areas. This condo is located just 1 block from the beach, Hilton Hawaiian Village and Ilikai Hotel. There are also many restaurants located within 1 block. For example The Chart House, Red Lobster, Outback, Bombay Indian Food, Harbor Pub (which has great pizza), I-Hop, etc are all easily accessible on-foot. Plus the ABC convenience store, Subway, McDonalds and Starbucks are all downstairs; and just two blocks away The Food Pantry Market is open for grocery shopping.

Everything you are looking for is here in Waikiki! Plus a trolley stop and city bus stop are both just 1-block away for easy access to the beach and Ala Moana Shopping Mall or if you prefer you can walk.

Disclaimer: This unit is located on the 10th floor and is adjacent to a busy intersection. Therefore, you will hear some street noise when your windows are open and a slight background noise when they are closed. Sorry, no pets and no smoking are allowed in this unit offered for vacation rental.
