Description of the Wailuku vacation cottage rental
(Our personal internet site: IaoValleyInn has an accurate 'availability' calendar)

Private, cozy and tranquil is how many of our guests describes this 1 bedroom Cottage with a detached Gazebo in Iao Valley. For our honeymoon guests, it is just romantic. Many of our guest simply have a hard time leaving as it is so quiet and relaxing, especially listening to the soothing sounds of Iao Stream. If you have a hard time leaving as many do, take a romantic stroll, swim in the stream, play with the farm animals, drink the coffee from the property or sleep under a million stars in you choose, you have options. CAPACITY: 4 PEOPLE!

For your first morning, we will leave you a fruit bowl and some pastry and/or fresh bread. Coffee and tea options are provided for your stay, to include coffee from our farm and other locally sourced Maui coffee. A complete kitchen and an outside barbeque is available for your use.

Iao Valley Inn is our home that we built in 2002 for our two children and ourselves. We actually lived in the Cottage/Gazebo while we built the main house. The main house offers 2 separate rooms with private bathrooms with covered outside entries.

Our property of 37 acres is centrally located in the capital city of Wailuku right in Iao Valley. Iao Stream cuts right through the middle of our property that at times is a babbling brook but can turn into a raging stream if raining up the valley. Iao Valley State Park and Kepaniwai Heritage Park are right up the road with several hiking trails within the parks and others close by too.

Being centrally located, we offer quick and easy access to all resort areas and main visitor attractions. Only 10 minutes to the airport, 10 minutes to Kanaha and Kite Beach for kite surfing and windsurfing, 15 minutes to Maalaea for snorkel, fishing and whale watch boat tours, 15-20 to the resort areas of Kihei and Wailea and 30-40 minutes to Lahaina.

Paradise

June 30, 2016

Welcome to your own private piece of paradise. From the moment you enter the driveway of the Iao Valley Inn, you enter another world. Away from the hustle and bustle of Maui, the Iao Valley Inn is a tranquil oasis where the sound of the creek and the birds are the only sounds you'll hear. The cabin is cozy and very well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen. Although, its tiny there's really nothing more you could ask for. The location is fabulous, so centrally located that its only minutes to either side of the island. Truly Iao Valley Inn is a small piece of heaven!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have beach towels?
A: Yes! We have beach towels for guests to use, along with beach chairs and coolers.
Q: Can we check it early?
A: If we have a back-to-back booking (guest leaving and new guest coming the same day), the short answer is probably not, as we need time for the room to be cleaned. However, if you are concerned about luggage in your vehicle before your check-in, we can accommodate luggage to be stored until the room is ready.
Q: Can we check out late?
A: If we have a back-to-back (guest leaving and new guest coming the same day), the short answer is probably not, as we need time for the room to be cleaned before the new guest arrive. If there is no back-to-back and we are able to re-schedule the cleaners, we will try to accommodate you.
Q: Should we expect to see bugs?
A: We are in the tropics, so yes, there are bugs. Most are the normal ones you know about (ants, roaches and spiders) but you will also see geckos. As much as our maintenance services usually keep the bugs away, geckos are difficult to keep out. Luckily, they are harmless and beneficial by eating the smaller bugs. For the record, Hawaii does not have snakes, bears or mountain lions! You can help as well by not leaving food out.
Q: What is the protocol for late night arrivals?
A: Because we live on the property, we generally like to greet our guests, no matter how late it is. If for some reason we are out however, finding your accomodations is fairly easy with the instructions we provide you. In that case, we will greet you in the morning.
Q: Is there a lockbox for key pick-up?
A: Because we live on the property, we normally will hand over the keys upon your arrival.
Q: Do you help with activities?
A: We will certainly give our personal advice if requested. We do offer a guide book in the room for ideas and we work with Barefoot Travels who can help you before your trip or upon your arrival. However, there are 2 activites that are always booked months in advance, and that is the Old Lahaina Luau and dining at Mamaʻs FishHouse. Those need to be booked early.
