Description from owner

Not a cabin, but a lovely, newer (2004), nicely furnished two bedroom two bath home with a den that doubles as a third bedroom. The home comfortably sleeps eight. The home is located in the Bayshore community located on the spit between beautiful Alsea Bay and the Pacific. It is less than a one-block walk to the beach access leading to miles of flat sandy beach. The rates are listed, but be sure and check with us during the off season. There is usually some type of deal being offered.

The Crabbin' Cabin is fully equipped with everything you need, with the exception of your food, paper products and firewood (12 inch) for the wood stove. It is truly a relaxing comfortable home located in a laid back small town on the Oregon Coast. Waldport has everything you might need, but if you want a larger selection, Newport is a short fifteen miles to the North.

“Nothing to be crabby about!”

We spent a long weekend at this delightful house. Beautiful and comfortable furnishings. A short walk to a beautiful, wide beach for long walks along the ocean. Location was peaceful and relaxing. Booking was easy.

What can I say about this cabin to do it justice. We expected charming, we were pleasantly surprised. The cabin exceeded all of our expectations. It was charming and adorable and stocked with all we needed. Check in with the property managers was easy as was check out. The climb down to the beach was a little rough, but we are in our 40's and did it with ease. It is in a spot between Newport and Waldport, perfect for daily adventures to both towns. The decks are beautiful to view the ocean, we saw migrating whales the first day. There are not window treatments, but with views this pretty, you don't miss them. We slept with the windows open and the sound of the sea, lulled us to sleep. There was a full moon that was amazing as well. We had a wind storm. Shook the house a little as it is up off of the ground, but it was never drafty or cold. We had the best, most relaxing stay and we can't wait to come back with the rest of the family.

“Fantastic Home for Us”

Close to the beach with access at the beach club. We stayed four days, the home had everything we need and more. Very clean and well kept, even the garage was spotless. Quiet area. So much in this area to do, we will be back.

“Vacation HOME...away from home!!”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2015

Our time in your beautiful home was truly special for our whole family! All the necessities were available to make it easy to settle in and enjoy our stay! Much more than that, though, the way you have decorated it made it feel so much nicer than most "vacation rentals". The atmosphere of your home is warm and inviting (and clean!) and the area is peaceful and serene. The open floor plan is great for preparing meals, while still being able to visit with the whole family sitting around the dining table or relaxing in the living area. We couldn't have asked for a better situation! We will be back!

“Next Best thing to being actually on the beach.”

Well kept house with plenty of room. Easy to find and close to Newport and Yachats. About 300 yards from the Ocean. I would have given this place 5 stars, but dealing with Dolphin Realty made me want to pull my hair out. The owners of the house were really nice and responsive when asked questions, but Dolphin was the exact opposite. Just a royal PITA. Now I know who not to deal with when I go to the coast.

Owner's reply: As of July 18, 2012 we have change management companies. We are now managed by Ocean Odyssey Vacation Rentals. Our desire is to please our customers at all times. We want you to enjoy your stay and will do whatever is possible to make that happen. We are very confident that our new property managers are commited to this as well. That is why we have changed management. We want you to stay with us and desire to return. Sincerely, Pat and Terri Thompson

“cozy and inviting!”

Reviewed 19 May 2012

We rented this warm and cozy house for six weeks the last of February and all of March. During our stay we had some wild weather and sand damaged some neighboring homes. Nevertheless, this home provided safe and warm protection. This home is rather sheltered and wonderfully furnished and decorated. You can't go wrong and the owners are very hospitable. Although you don't have an ocean view from the home, the bay and ocean are within an easy walking distance. A word of advice.. if you can, deal directly with the owners rather than Dolphin Realty. The realty company was rather trying at times and couldn't answer basic questions of when garbage day was and didn't provide a check out sheet as we checked in on the weekend. They also didn't refund all of the cleaning deposit and gave no explanation.

Owner's reply: As of July 18, 2012 we have changed property management companies. We are committed to making things right for our guests. We want you to enjoy your stay and hopefully return to stay with us in the future. Pat and Terri Thompson

“Wonderful House! We had a great experience!”

This lovely house provided us with a very comfortable stay in beautiful Waldport by the sea. The house is only a 3-4 minute walk to the beach. We highly recommend the "Crabbin' Cabin"!

“Crabbin Fever”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2008

This home was wonderful and close to beach access. Our families enjoyed clamming, crabbing and searching for shells. The cabin is well laid out and gives you the at home feeling. The price is reasonable and the location is close to shopping, crabbing and good food. Our families cannot wait to return hopefully next year!

“Great place - weather was windy”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2008

The house was a great surprise. It was well equipped and well situated on the coast to reach both the north and the south portions of the coast. Four of us spent a week there and we were impressed by the home. A couple problems were encountered and a call to Hannah at Dolphin realty had them fixed right away. An awesome place to go to escape the everyday hum drum of our lives.
