“Fun place for power boaters, sailing not so great.”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2015

The manufactured home has some cosmetic issues, stains on floor and sink. Small air conditioner was overloaded in the 100 degree weather. The lofts had very low ceilings. New managers were very nice and helpful, but were not up todate on the the 4th of July activities in town (fireworks were cancelled, due to death of organizer). As a sailor Steamboat slough always had the wind blowing up it.. The beach is small with seaweed off shore. The ferries were a quaint, run every 20 minutes on and after the hour.

Owner's reply: Just to clarify some of the comments, Steamboat Slough at the confluence with the Sacramento River may have wind for sailboaters, but the rest of Steamboat Slough is fairly well wind-protected due to the levees and lay of the land. Starting with Snug Harbor and boating north, you can not sail usually. But it makes a great waterway for ski and wakeboarders, paddlers and kayakers. Steamboat Slough is fresh water; the water weeds are there because of government-sponsored "restoration" actions.

“Nice clean cottage, relaxing atmosphere”

The staff at snug harbor resort greeted us upon our arrival and was friendly and helpful the entire stay. The cottage was clean and the inside looked freshly painted with a nice composite floor. They allow pets in certain cottages and our was one. Our dog really liked the place as well. The only down side were some of the docks could use a bit of work. But there is plenty of space for your boat and PWC. Just watch the sand bar at the entrance to the cove at low tide. The water is only a couple feet deep then. This was our first time there and was kind of a test stay. We will be back for a longer stay next time.

Owner's reply: Thank you and yes the water is lower than usual in the Delta, plus we have the tides so the sandbar does concern some. Next time you are here please ask us to show you the deeper channel as you might have noticed even 50 foot boats with deeper draft come and go from the marina. And yes we are planning dock rehab in September as the rub rails and some boards and bolts need upgrading. So glad you like us and the Delta though!
