The historic nature of Chandler's Knob has been preserved through the remodel, which means that the ceilings are of varying heights and are relatively low -- the cottage is best suited to people of average height or below. I am roughly 5'11', and am comfortable throughout the building.
We have a pier that guests may use during their visit. The marina just down the street has a launch available if you bring a boat.

The cottages that were built then were small, simple places to sleep. Over time, most of these have been replaced with full-sized homes, but the resort feeling remains intact. On warm summer evenings, there will be people out for walks, and visiting with neighbors.
The Barbee Chain consists of Big and Little Barbee Lakes, plus Sawmill, Irish, Banning, Kuhn and Sechrist Lakes. Big Barbee is open to waterskiing, while the others are limited to 5mph, making them ideal for fishing or swimming off the boat.
The nearby town of North Webster offers several restaurants, covering American, Mexican, Chinese and Italian foods. We have a full-line grocery store if you prefer to cook for yourself.
Don't forget to plan a cruise on Lake Webster's Dixie boat -- the oldest true stern-wheel paddle boat in Indiana.

Cozy and comfortable cottage
July 17, 2013
My sister and I recently spent four days and three nights at this charming cottage at Sechrist Lake. It is small, but perfect for two or three and didn't feel close or crowded in the least. It was well equipped with just about every need addressed. Everything was new and the decor was visually pleasing and attractive. The bed was extremely comfortable to sleep in. Even though it was only a full size bed, we did not feel cramped. While the cottage is not lakefront, we found enough to do in the surrounding area that it didn't matter too much. We spent a day on the beach at Center Lake in Warsaw, took a tour of Lake Webster on the sternwheel paddle boat, the Dixie, and explored the antique shops in nearby Pierceton. Having the cottage to return to after a busy day was something we looked forward to and it was relaxing just to be there whether reading, watching TV, or taking an afternoon nap. We totally enjoyed our time there and would consider returning. I may even return alone for a few days of quiet time. The owners, Paul and Jenny, were friendly and helpful and clearly have pride in ownership of this unique little gem of a place.
This little cabin has been exceptionally crafted. It is a great place for a getaway for two. Every part of the cabin was clean and in order for our stay. We would have benefitted from a little more instruction on the climate controls. Hot water at the sinks was intermittent as was the wi-fi. One suggestion we would make would be to hang a mirror somewhere outside the bathroom as only one person at a time can inhabit the bathroom. Our overall experience was satisfactory. We would definitely recommend this place to others traveling in the area! The owners are gracious and have really thought out how to make guests welcome and comfortable.

--Owner's note: Water heater was found to be defective, and has been repaired. WiFi being upgraded this week. Full-length mirror added. Thanks for the suggestion!
This was a great little cottage. My husband and I loved it. Would highly recommend. The owners are SUPER nice ,friendly, and very welcoming. Will book next year for our fishing get away. The lake is right across the street, easy access. Thanks for the great 3 day weekend.

What a great alternative to just a standard hotel room. This charming little cottage is fully self contained and the host were super friendly and welcoming. My wife and I were in Warsaw to witness our sons baptism and didn't want to stay in a hotel room. We always try to seek out alternative accommodations and were very happy to find this little gem. Everything in the cottage appeared new and extremely clean. The rates are fair. I recommend this lake cottage when your travels take you to the Warsaw/Winona Lake area.
