Beautiful oceanfront property

August 10, 2015

We were a family of 4 couples (8 people) that stayed in Aug 2015 for one week. This place is fantastic. It is on Lieutenant's Island (which means you need to take note of high tide!!) in Wellfleet, MA. The view of Cape Cod Bay is superb and so are the sunsets. It had great privacy and steps down to the beach. You can swim when the tide is up, but be careful of the razor claims and rocks! The house itself is modern and is fully stocked, although the dishwasher and washing machine don't work so well (not sure if that is because of the water or because of the appliances themselves). The deck wraps around almost the whole house, but keep in mind that the wind was often too strong for us to eat outside. The house is well located on Cape Cod, away from some of the really busy areas like Hyannis and Barnstable. Close to PB Boulangerie (amazing bakery and bistro) and Cahoun Beach (on the Atlantic Side). The town of Wellfleet is very cute. Only 20 minutes from Provincetown. All in all we had a great stay. The house is very pricey, but I guess that is the reality if you want waterfront and for that many guests. If this is within your budget then I'd definitely recommend.

Planning for the Tide

July 21, 2012

The house was clean, fresh and very nice. The steps down to the beach are a bit long. You also need to plan for the high tides when you are getting to/from the house -- we got stranded once.
