Area Information
Famous for its three miles of platinum white sand beaches, Ogunquit, "beautiful place by the sea" has been one of Maine's premiere resort villages and artists' colonies for generations.
Ogunquit is also the home of the breathtaking cliff-side Marginal Way, a scenic footpath bordering the Atlantic Ocean; picturesque Perkins Cove, with its working harbor crossed by New England's only foot drawbridge; and the Ogunquit Playhouse, which has hosted one of the nation's finest summer theatres since the 1930's.
Rich in history and natural beauty, a visit to Ogunquit is like a step back in time. Village architecture has been carefully preserved, housing a delightful collection of boutiques, art galleries, museums and restaurants. With everything an easy walk or nostalgic trolley-ride away, you can say goodbye to your car for your entire Maine vacation!
