“Perfect Family Beach House”
Twenty years ago friends and I rented this house, 3 families and 6 little kids between us. All these years later my family/children/grandchildren have rented this lovely beach home twice - 2013 and 2016. This is the perfect family house. It is big enough for a large family, steps from the ocean and very cozy. Everything is clean, well thought out and very very comfortable. There is a porch that faces the ocean with a fire/propane stove for those chilly evenings. The owner is super to deal with - responds immediately if you have any questions. I would give the house and the overall experience 10 stars if I could!
“Great view of the ocean”
A very old house but very comfortable for our stay. Some repairs are needed, not essential for our stay except things like the 'screen doors' in the back and on the side of the house which are used a lot. It was clean but being such an old house it was difficult to clean it the way I would have liked. It had wireless internet but it was not a "secured" site (no passwords were needed) which I didn't like. But all in all it was great and if going back I would not mind re-renting it.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your nice review Lisette and we are glad all things considered it was 5 star great! Yes indeed its an old home (1898) and its time for new screen doors at the end of every season!
“Perfect place in the water!”
This house was perfect! I loved that it is an older house with a ton of character. I have a large family and there was plenty of room! Throughout the week about 28 people stopped in to visit or stay a night. The stairs to get down onto the beach could be tough for older folks or small kids. I loved that there is a fire pit and beach sand to enjoy when the ride is too high to sit out on the beach! I would a absolutely rent again. Rob, the owner, was great to deal with and was always prompt getting back to me! Thank you!
“Fall in love with an 1898 house on the beach”
Our second family gathering at The Beach House was better than one could imagine. (we are 3 generations scattered in California, Kentucky, Washington DC, and Portland, Maine who meet one week every 2nd year). Comfortable quarters in the 7 bedrooms, lots of relaxing space on the sandy space fronting the ocean next to the fire pit; at the outside picnic table near the two grills, outside shower (hot and cold water), spacious enclosed porch with plenty of room for lounging, large Game Table (seats 6+ for cards, jig saw puzzles, or Monopoly, quiet living-sitting room with book shelves, two futons. Best part for us was the long dining table that seats all 14 of us at one sitting, adjacent to well provisioned kitchen. Every amenity we could hope for. Furnished with charming period pieces and tasteful art on the walls. The beach is relatively quiet, not too many beach-goers compared to mid-Atlantic and Carolina beaches. Lots of great seafood in local restaurants. Shopping within a mile at a huge Hannafords, an Aubuchon hardware, a bakery, etc. The landlord is a prince of a guy. I can think of nothing negative to say about the Wells Beach Beach House. Go and enjoy!
“Beautiful Ocean Front Rental”
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this beautiful home in Wells, ME. It is a beautiful old home. A shower had been added since the last time we stayed which was wonderful! The owner is very nice and attentive to any needs that arise. The views of the ocean are spectacular and having access to it right in the backyard is great. We very much enjoyed our stay!
“A very good place to relax”
I went there with my dog for a week. A so pretty place for a family, a place to relax, look at the ocean and take long walks along the sea. The house is a pretty country house where it is good to live.
Being at the cottage on July fourth is fun. Everyone has fires going at night and fireworks and now a new thing where you have a mini air balloons that float through the air. The people that live around the area especially Tom Dooley and his family are wonderful. The house seemed to be freshly painted and a few new things around. We enjoy our stay at the house and look forward to staying there again next year.
What a great place! Right on the ocean, and all bedrooms somehow managed to face the ocean so you could fall asleep to crashing waves at night. Very accommodating facilities..... nothing lacking. We'll be back!
“THE BEACH HOUSE”
Wonderful location right on the beach. Plenty of space for a large family or a family reunion, celebration etc. We would surely return to the beach house again!
