UPDATE: LOTS OF INQUIRIES COMING IN FOR THAT LAST HIGH SEASON WEEK IN JULY. THAT LEAVES ONLY THE LAST 3 DAY WEEKEND IN AUGUST WHICH MAY BE RENTED BY SPECIAL EXCEPTION. THERE'S ONLY A COUPLE WEEKS LEFT IN JUNE and it's usually a little less crowded then. Bring everybody!
This is a beautiful home in the woods. It must be seen to be truly appreciated. We finished our remodel/rehab finally and are ordering all new furniture and mattresses, bedding, towels, kitchen equipment and so on. I AM and WILL BE POSTING MORE PHOTOS of the furniture as we choose it. The map has it pinpointed incorrectly so if you're looking, it's at the corner of Nottingham Drive and Loop Road. Actually, the 2.6 acres takes up that entire "corner."
The breezeway/LR has a cathedral ceiling, lots of windows looking into the woods but with lots of light.in addition to the usual LR furniture, it will have a full size fold out comfy couch, leather club chair, and a wardrobe for a large party that will need a "bedroom" for two more adults. There's a door between it and the kitchen. It will also have a 50" flat screen TV on a console with a DVD player. All TVs will have streaming video capabilities and include Netflix, Amazon, Hulu with Showtime, and CBS All Access.
Next to that is the large almost new kitchen and a peninsula counter that separates it from the coffee/reading room with lounge chairs and tray tables. Books and games are on the bookcase.
The dining room will have a table large enough to seat 8 with a buffet and 3 windows, 2 that look out onto the raised bed garden and brick paths.
The main floor bedroom will have a queen bed, white nightstands and dresser and 32" TV.
Across from it is the large bath with 4' vanity, tub/shower, and the washer/dryer. Above these are the cupboards for linens and towels and cleaning supplies.
Upstairs there is also a large bathroom which is quite lovely and has a linen closet.
Two adult guests can enjoy the king-size bed in the MBR, with a low profile window AC, ceiling fan with its own remote, 32" flat screen TV and a large walk-in closet.
Across the wood floor hall is the 3rd bedroom accommodating 3 persons which is long and has both a full bed and twin bed each with its own night stand and chest. There is a closet here as well.
All bedrooms have a ceiling fan and window air conditioners; the breezeway and breakfast room have AC units and the DR has a ceiling fan.
If you have a boat or ATVs on a trailer, there is plenty of room to park or if there are more than two cars in a large party, don't worry!
Pause for a moment and prioritize your play time. York County Coast has plenty to offer for the best taste of summer. Drink it in!
Guests may want to try the great local restaurants, especially for anything lobster!
Payment methods: INITIALLY Cashier's Check; Check or Cash on arrival.
The back yard has seating and tables, a 4 burner propane grill, and a natural stone fire pit with plenty of wood to light and enjoy a bug free evening or warm you up if the evening is cool.
The front yard is for the owner's flower and vegetable garden and ripe vegetables and herbs may be purchased as well.
MOVE QUICKLY ON RESERVATIONS. BOOK NOW!!! It's only MARCH and most of the HIGH SEASON weeks are booked. LOTS of inquiries in the last week on those 2 HIGH season weeks in July. ONLY a 3 day weekend starting on Saturday AUGUST 25th thru that Monday night AND 3 WEEKS still IN JUNE available. If these appeal to you, then please, GET YOUR INQUIRIES IN ASAP! Come on up!
Sorry, but NO SMOKING and NO PETS.
Regarding the winter: get in touch with me by phone. This winter a gentleman and his son are living there as he sold his house sooner than expected and wanted time to find the perfect place, which, ta da, he has done. He'll be out the end of April and I will be getting there on May 6. If you want a place to get away for holidays or weekends or near winter sports places, or you're a teacher newly hired in the area, or you also are wanting time there to choose your perfect home, we can negotiate your use. I will be there from just before Thanksgiving to just after New Year's, then back again the beginning of May, again staying in the caretaker's unit. My wonderful manager/handyman is in Wells also.

The owner was very nice and has my same values by this I mean clean and pleasant surrounds both in and outside the rental......The sad part about this is the home is up for sale....Hope she sales so she can move on with her life ... But will rent if she is still in the area next year......
Owner Supplied Testimonials
From Ginger in New Jersey: Spent 10 days in early July as a "guest" of Anna in her beautiful vacation apartment and property. She took me to an outside by the sea dance and sat on the porch in the morning while I had my coffee. We made dinner together in her kitchen one night and ate at the picnic table while a fire kept the bugs away. It's a beautiful area from Kennebunk to Portsmouth and this is right in between. The beaches there are mixed. The best with soft sand and good waves is Drakes Island just at the northeast end of Wells. I would recommend this as a GREAT deal and the hostess as a wonderful helpful person.
From Carli, the traveling nurse from Kentucky: Anna is a kind, thoughtful, helpful hardworking Swedish woman who guarded my rest and sleep as I filled in for nurses on vacation at nearby York Hospital. She took me to have my very first lobsters at Billy's and took me to listen to a fantastic band. We also made one dinner in her kitchen and sat on the breezeway porch to chat and laugh and enjoy. The price was so reasonable and quiet for me to get enough sleep as my shifts had to change according to what the hospital needed. Oh, I almost forgot, Anna taught me how to boogie board!
From Steve: I stayed for two weeks at this place and wanted to help Anna work in her garden and mow and take care of the it all. She really makes sure it looks beautiful and peaceful and is very protective of guests. She also taught me the back ways to navigate south as it gets very crowded from the end of June through Labor Day. You couldn't find a better place at a better rate with a better host than here.
