Charming housekeeping cottage that is private & quite lovely. The cottage, the front porch, the patio, and the yard are bigger than they appear in the pics. What a pleasant surprise! And, we were able to bring our tiny, well behaved dog, which was wonderful. The cottage sits at the end of a cul de sac on a one-way street, making it very private & great for kids. Not one car passed by the cottage the whole week we were there. How awesome is that? The cottage is clean, well appointed & just so lovely that we would love to return here again, but perhaps earlier in the summer if possible.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The cottage is adorable. It is quaint, quiet, and peaceful. We especially liked sitting in the backyard. The outdoor shower was also a plus. The only slight drawback on the cottage is that we found it a little too filled with furnishings and memorabilia. It sometimes felt a bit cramped. But, we still enjoyed it very much. It is perfectly located in terms of accessing everything on Cape Cod and it is perfectly located at the end of a quiet street which gave us privacy. The neighbors were also very friendly.

Charming and fantastic location for a Cape getaway

I recently stayed at the Codlery for a trip to the Cape in July and we absolutely loved it! It was charming and in a great little neighborhood. We loved being so close to all of the action in West Yarmouth and Hyannis. Though we had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency, we loved our brief time at the house! Would recommend this place for a couple or mother-daughter trip. Hope to visit again next year!

LOVE that this cottage is on a dead end. The front porch is absolutely lovely, and one of the house's best features. The outdoor shower is nice and private because of the added corrugated plastic nailed over the boards. We so much appreciated that this owner allowed us to bring our dog. The brand new bathroom is also a great feature. We spent a lot of daydreaming time thinking about what we would do to this cottage! :). As you walk in, there is a VERY loose board under the carpeting, which made us all nervous. There was no room made in the bureaus, so we had to live out of our suitcases, which got old very quickly. There is simply too much stuff in this house. A Cape Cod rental should be streamlined, including just the basics for easy cleaning. This cottage is chock full of all kinds of overly large furniture and clutter. It gives one a sense of being overwhelmed. However, it is very centrally located, and we could not have asked for more perfect weather.

Owner's reply:

Glad that you liked it. I realize it is full of my old stuff, but cannot bear to get rid of most of it as it is my home-away-from-home when I am there. I'll see what I can do about putting some of my things upstairs as I do understand when we go to a similar place which has too much stuff around. Thanks very much for the honest evaluation! I do appreciate it! Marcie Gauntlett

This charming cottage at the end of a dead end sandy road was all we needed. Very modest and simple with a lovely charm. We loved the outdoor patio and the yard all around the cottage for our 2 young daughters to roam around in. We enjoyed the silence and the sense of the ocean nearby. The bathroom is brand new and the 2 bedrooms are nice and keep cool during hot days thanks to the vents in the window. West Yarmouth is the perfect center location on the Cape to explore.. We definitely fell in love with the Cape and this cottage and would love to come back next year!

I'm so glad our cottage pleases most; we try to have it as homey and comfy as possible! Thanks so much for super review!

The home was very secluded but very close to the main road (Rt. 28) and only a few minutes to Rt.6 which was great for traveling around the Cape. Front porch was delightful in the evening. Outside shower very handy and enjoyable. My kids loved the place. House is located at end of cul de sac and not a single vehicle came near the place the whole week were there. The yard was very spacious for my kids to play in. Could not have been happier with this rental. I have already reserved the rental for the same exact week for next year. Can't wait to come back. All 3 of my kids are in total agreement and very happy that we're coming back next year to the same place.
