Description from owner
The Mini-Moose Cabin is a recently renovated/upgraded cabin which backs up to the Gallatin National Forest on a quiet dead-end street and only 7 miles from the West Gate of Yellowstone National Park. The cabin has a fantastic view of Lionshead Peak and the surrounding mountains of the Continental Divide. It has 750 sq ft of living space, including 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Laundry Closet with stacked washer/dryer, Large Open Family Room/Dining Room, Kitchen plus over 300 sq ft of covered side and front porches to enjoy the beautiful mountain views! This cabin is ideally suited to accommodate two adults with two to four children.
Sleeping arrangements are as follows: MBR: Queen plus twin bunks; LR: Queen sleeper sofa
Decorated in a rustic mountain cabin theme with both new and antique furniture, fixtures and household items, the cabin features circle-sawn Douglas Fir flooring with knife-drawn edges, reclaimed barn wood wainscoting, knotty pine walls/and ceiling, wood burning stove, large windows throughout to enjoy the mountain and forest views, covered front and side porches, etc. And don't let the size fool you - this is a VERY comfortable open-spaced cabin with some of the best mountain views in the area!
For large family or friend gatherings, we have other rental properties immediately adjacent to the Mini-Moose Cabin - e.g., the newly constructed Lazy Moose and Mountain View Lodges! Check them out at the link below and if interested in renting one or more of these properties during the same calendar period, be sure to ask about our 'Village' rates!
Also if interested, please ask about our referral arrangements, including horseback riding, trout fishing, hunting and snowmobiling.

Owner Supplied Testimonials
Sep 1, 2015 - We LOVED everything about the Mini Moose. Attending a family wedding on the shores of Hebgen Lake, the location was ideal! This is an immaculately kept property nestled in the woods. The porch is a very special spot. Kevin was ideal to work with. How nice to arrive, let ourselves in, spend beautiful times, tidy up and lock the door. Felt entirely at home.
Aug 25, 2015 - We had the most relaxing and enjoyable time at the Mini Moose; stayed at Lazy Moose last year with another couple and traveled as a couple this year, so down-sized. This cabin was the perfect size and had every amenity we needed; beautifully decorated and had all of the comforts of home. Listened to the wolves howl every morning and night, which was a treat! Perfect driving distance from Yellowstone and the town. Plan to go back again soon.
Oct 15, 2014 - We stayed for 7 nights and found this cabin to be absolutely perfect for the two of us. It was much more roomy than we expected and we loved everything about it. We had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped and the washer and dryer was a plus. Before we went on our trip, we asked Kevin if he could make sure the outdoor grill would be ready for use and we were amazed when we arrived, there was a brand new BBQ waiting for us! That's great customer service. Thank you again Kevin... Also, worth mentioning, the double bed in the bedroom has been replaced by a queen size bed, good upgrade. We loved hanging out on the porch every morning and every night. It's very peaceful. The cabin is only 10 minutes away from West Yellowstone where there are 2 grocery stores with everything you need. The west entrance to the park is also right there, right outside town so the location of this cabin is very convenient. We loved it there at Mini Moose...We would stay there again, for sure!!!
Feb 16, 2014 - The Mini-Mouse cabin is very affordable and has all the basic amenities. You will find the cabin is clean, comfortable, and very cozy. There is a wood stove (pick up some seasoned wood), comfortable seating, cable TV, and a washer/dryer. The kitchen area contains a table, refrigerator and all the basics you need. The location is away from it all and not too far from Yellowstone. The drive to Yellowstone is very enjoyable. The Mini-Moose is great, 2 of us stayed here for a night. We stayed at the owner's other house, MT View Lodge except our last night as it was booked. (The MT View Lodge is an incredible home right next door, highly recommend a stay there too) The owner is wonderful to work with and very helpful. Very responsive to our calls. He provided details on some of the adventures we wanted to experience outside the park. Have fun ... go cuddle in the Mini-Moose Cabin. The trip was a top 10 for us!
June 2016 - Loved the Mini-Moose Cabin!
We so enjoyed our stay. The cabin is a very short drive from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It is well appointed with a very nice kitchen, lovely living area, and comfortable bedroom and bathroom.
There are hiking trails right outside the door, although bear spray is recommended.
The town of West Yellowstone has an interesting museum, IMAX theatre, shops and two grocery stores. If coming from Bozeman, recommend shopping there due to better prices.
We did a day trip to Craters of the Moon National Monument. Well recommended! A bit of a drive but so interesting.
I would stay here again.
May 2016 - Great Cabin!
The cabin was fantastic. Quite roomy and VERY comfortable. The attention to detail in the remodel of this cabin shows a great deal of pride of ownership. The owner called us to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. And we were. Even as the snow fell, we were cozy. We had a fox cross the yard one early morning. Having rented many types of homes, this one was quite special. We highly recommend this as your home base.
