We are located in the Townsite of Rosita, a former mining/ghost town & now a small community. You can visit the Rosita Cemetary from 1870 just down the road. Don't forget your camera. The Wet Mountain Valley has some of Colorado's greatest scenery. You WILL see deer. And maybe a bear, bob cat, coyote, antelope, elk, hawks & eagles... but you will see deer. The wildflowers should be great this year with all the moisture we've had. Our country roads are great for mountain bikes too.

Reviews for this vacation cabin rental in Westcliffe, Colorado
Great Rosita Cabin!
October 17, 2014
We stayed for 4 nights at this lovely cabin. Everything was wonderful with one exception, low water pressure in the shower, but we kinda expected it because these cabins are on wells. Otherwise, everything else was perfect. Great kitchen with surprises like spices, paper plates, non-stick cooking spray, pots, pans, real dishes, glasses, etc. Need ice cube trays! :-) Great family room, wonderful gas stove and flat screen to TV with DISH to relax by. Bedrooms were cozy, bathrooms were immaculate! Internet worked great! Owners were a pleasure to deal with and we will definitely rent here again. Thanks to Tom and Linda (owners) for maintaining such a wonderful cabin in beautifule Westcliffe, CO!

How can you say perfection. the house was equipped for everything. This is the first time we traveled with our pets, Lester the rotweiler and Chloe the Haveneese, and everything was great. Plenty of room in the 2 bedroom house and the setting was very relaxing. Westcliffe was nearby and we saw several attractions like Bishops Castle nearby and the restaurant next door was excellent for dinner. You want a place to let off the pressures of everyday life this is it and your host makes sure you comfortable.

Great cabin away from it all
October 12, 2013
We travel to Colorado every year. This is the best cabin we've stayed at in 8 years. It has everything you need and more. The kitchen is beyond fully stocked. We loved having a coffee maker, ground coffee, and a really nice BBQ grill out back. The cabin is so nice. We felt like we were staying at a really nice B&B instead of a cabin. The beds, pillows, blankets, and furniture were so comfortable. There are always 5-6 deer outside the door, and that was really fun since we're city people. We especially appreciated that both our dogs (Black Labs) were allowed in the cabin. The cabin is decorated really cute, and there are a ton of books to choose from! Also lots of helpful information about activities and things to do in the area. The only down sides: it takes about 20-30 minutes to drive down the road to any trailheads or to town. The neighborhood is all private land so there isn't room to hike from your front door like we enjoy doing. The cabin is very close to the next door neighbors. We saw them upon arrival and they were not too friendly. So that felt a little awkward sometimes. But if you want a beautiful and comfortable cabin with lots of peace and quiet, then this is perfect! We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and he was really nice. We enjoyed visiting with him and he was very helpful. Definitely highly recommend this 5-star cabin!

We were looking for a place to chill out after a stressful sale of our house. This cabin fit the bill. It was roomy and very nicely decorated ! Loved the deck with the views and the resident Mule Deer. There are nice shops in town and a grocery store that carry local Elk, Bison and Grass Fed Beef in their freezer section. Cappy's had wonderful Green Chile, and the best homemade coleslaw ever! We were only gong to stay a few days but ended up staying a week.

Wish We Could Stay Longer!!!
July 3, 2013
Our family enjoyed the lovely and well equipped Rosita Cabin. The cabin was clean and neat. The decor & art was fun and interesting. Our stay was so enjoyable!! With 4 young children in tow, it was a relief that we only need bring our food and personal essentials. The children were so excited to see the deer, and explore the area on their walks, that this seemed like an adventure just for them! The beautiful surroundings, the wildlife, and silence (after the little ones were asleep!), gave a sense of peace in our lives. We hope to return to this little "piece of heaven" in the future. Many thanks to Tom for being available to answer our questions. Sincerely, The Orgeron and Thornton Families

This is our second visit to Rosarita Rentals in Westcliffe, CO. As usual everyting was great and the cabin was exceptionally clean as usual. We sat on the deck and every evening the deer with their fawns would come and visit. We bought a couple of things for the cabin so we could use it our next visit and also for other visitors to use. Such a quiet place and the best resturant in the area was around the corner. We are planning another visit in the winter. The owners are readily available if any issues need to be addresed. Thanks again Tom, the visit was so relaxing and peaceful.
