A fabulous, five bedroom Victorian 'villa style' townhouse in an excellent central, yet quiet residential area, a short stroll to the beach and harbour. Bright, spacious and well-equipped, it boasts stylish decor and outside space.Ground Floor

Approach this lovely house - with its beautiful Victorian 'villa' styling and ornate decorative balcony - via a small, lawned enclosed garden, which is a sun-trap, bordered with roses and hedging for privacy.

The entrance hall, with its colourful 'WHITBY' lettering, is inviting and leads to a smart sitting room, with TV and comfortable seating, which also has an open fire - wonderful to cosy up in front of on cooler evenings - with a starter pack of kindling and logs supplied in winter months plus we set the fire ready for you to light!

The sitting room leads to the dining room with its lovely scrubbed pine table - perfect for enjoying meals as a family or group of friends - and an armoire with a book library and puzzles for family fun.

The dining room has French doors that lead to the rear courtyard garden, with its two charming beach huts for storage, BBQ and table and chairs - what could be nicer, sat in the sunshine enjoying al fresco dining, pre-dinner drinks or just your morning cuppa before a day's adventure?

There is an excellent, good size galley-style kitchen, which is well-equipped with a range cooker with eight gas rings - perfect for cooking for a large party! - fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

First Floor

To the first floor is a wonderful, large drawing room which has bay windows that look out towards the moorland in the distance; with comfortable sofas to sit and relax, it's a truly lovely room with beautiful plasterwork including elegant cornicing and ceiling rose.

This floor also has a beautiful double bedroom with a king size French-style rattan bed and decorative cast iron fireplace. A stunning family bathroom boasts a free-standing claw and ball bath, WC, hand wash basin and a large separate shower cubicle.

Second Floor

To the second floor is a charming twin bedroom – we love the bunting and beach-inspired décor! – and a lovely double bedroom with views out over the front garden, again with a cast iron fireplace. There is another bathroom, which is very pretty with a free-standing bath with shower over, WC and hand wash basin.

Third Floor

The top floor has a single bedroom - from which you can see across to the iconic Whitby Abbey and a glimpse of the sea! - and a further twin bedroom, again, styled in the vibrant blues, reds and whites, reminiscent of beach holidays.


To the front is a pretty lawned garden which is a sun trap – wonderful to sit and enjoy a morning coffee and relax! – and an enclosed courtyard to the rear, where you can indulge in al fresco breakfasts or dine under the stars.

There is on-street parking outside with the harbour, beach, shops, restaurants, bars and cafés a short stroll away as well as an excellent fish and chip shop a two minute walk away - let cook have the night off!

A rare find and a brilliant house that generations of families enjoy.

Town: The ancient fishing port of Whitby lies at the mouth of the River Esk and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful part of Yorkshire, with its superb coastline and close proximity to the spectacular North York Moors. Whitby is a charming and atmospheric town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches and of course the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.
