I usually do not take the time to review places I've been. However, I have to take a moment to say WOW. If you are on the fence about going to Lu Mil Vineyard, just do it- you won't be sorry. We started out as guests, and by the end of our 2 day anniversary get-away, we left as friends! The staff was wonderful, the vineyard was gorgeous, and the view from cabin #8 was spectacular. My husband did some fishing in the lake while I read a good novel in the shade. Then, we rode bikes through the vineyard and treated ourselves to some of their delicious muscadine slushies! The whole experience incredibly refreshing and we are already planning our return trip in the fall! :)
Owner's reply: Thanks so much for staying with us! It was really nice meeting you guys & we look forward to you returning in the Fall & hopefully during our Festival of Lights that begins Thanksgiving weekend.
“A Great Experience”
We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Lu Mil Vineyard Cabins. The cabins were well kept. Everything was quiet. The grill was well maintained. The staff at the Vineyard was very helpful, answering every question we had. They were busy with a big event, but they still took time for my wife and I. The grounds were lovely. If you go, make sure to take a peddle bike out.
Owner's reply: Thank you for staying with us !!! Try to return during our Annual Festival of Lights that begins Thanksgiving weekend. Fun for the entire family!

“Beautiful Peace and Quiet”
It was so peaceful and the view by day and night was gorgeous. This place was exactly what I and my husband was looking for and needed on our anniversary.

We had a wonderful time out on the vineyard. It was so quiet and peaceful out there. The wife had lots of time to relax in the hot tub and read on the porch while I was away taking care of my business endeavors. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Denise and Janice. If I ever find myself back up there I will gladly stay again.
this place was great! my wife and I had a wonderful time. We must go back. the staff was very friendly and kind. this place is remarkable!
“Best place I've ever stayed!”
Cute, quiet little place that had a beautiful view! The cabins were very clean and had everything you'd need for a great getaway! Will definitely be making a trip back!

We stayed here for a two day get away with relaxing on our minds. It was exactly that. Cabins are super cute and cozy. Very quiet serene setting. The staff at the tasting room were delightful. Bonus: the wines were very good too. Will be back again in the fall.
Owner's reply: We are so glad that you visited us at Lu Mil Vineyard. Please return. We would love to have you back.
We stayed in cabin #3 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were celebrating our 33rd anniversary so the fact that there was no real kitchen (only a microwave, college sized refrigerator, and 4 cup coffe maker) was no real issue for us. Enough for strawberries, chocolate, cheese and wine. Bring your own paper plates, plastic ware, cutting knives, cork screw, etc. It was harest time when we were there, so sweet grapes could be plucked off the vines just outside the door of the cabin. The front porch overlooked the vineyard, and the back porch overlooked an open grassed hill and two large ponds. The smell of muscadine grapes filled the air in the evenings so we cut off the air conditioner and opened the windows to let in the sweet atmosphere. The heart shaped tub for two was relaxing and within the romantic theme we were looking for. The king sized bed was very comfortable, and after drinking a bottle of the vinyard's wine that we got at the gift shop/deli, we slept like logs. Very relaxing, very clean, very romantic. No phone and no internet, and small quarters, so not a place for work or work outs. TV was there and it worked, but we did not really use it. Weddings were being held all around us (at a distance), but that did not detract at all. The grounds and vineyards are beautiful (no processing on site) for strolling or riding a bike. If the stopper in the tub for 2 had functioned properly, if the kitchen had a small stove and bigger frig, and if there had been a fireplace (though I don't know where they would put those things in such a cozy little cabin) I might have gone all the way to 5 stars. The people were friendly, and the history of the vineyard / Taylor family was intriguing. There was not much to do in the area, very few restaurants to visit, none with a Sunday breakfast, so settle in and entertain yourself; we did. I recommend the stay and would probably go back if I get the opportunity.
We stayed in cabin #3 with a heart-shaped whirlpool tub and a king-sized bed. The cabin was just perfect for a romantic getaway for a couple like my wife and me. The views of the vineyard and the ponds were beautiful. We loved fishing in the 2 ponds, even though we didn't catch much more than multiple clumps of moss. I wonder if adding some Carp to the pond would help alleviate some of the moss that is so thick all around the shorelines, and then maybe the pond could be regularly stocked with edible fish like Bass, Crappie, and Brim. We also fed a lot of worms to the turtles, but I'm not sure what can be done about that. The only negative I can say about the cabin's amenities is that we were taken by surprise that there were no kitchen utensils or dishes of any sort. The first night we had a difficult time trying to eat what we had cooked on the grill, but we went out and bought some paper plates and plastic cutlery the next day. It would have been nice to know that we needed utensils before we arrived. Even though $110 a night is pretty reasonable for a night in a cabin like this, we would probably prefer driving the extra distance to stay in a cabin like this in the mountains for the same nightly rate. If this cabin were cheaper we may come back more often since it was only about an hour drive from our house, and the mountains are a 4 hour drive. The hosts and staff were very friendly and helpful.
