A couple of miles down bucolic Fish Creek Road from the amenities—a bar, bagel shop, general store, bike/ski shop—of “downtown” Wilson, Wilson Faces is perched on a bench above the valley floor and beneath the southernmost ridge of the Tetons. Turn off Fish Creek Road onto a private road that winds a couple of hundred feet up from Fish Creek, keep going until you reach the top, almost the top and there Wilson Faces is waiting to host you and your friends and family for an idyllic, secluded vacation in Jackson Hole.

Wilson Faces is the best type of log cabin—historic, but newly remodeled. For many years, this property was a part of the Lazy Moose Ranch and before that, the main building served as the original gas station in Wilson. Here you’ll get the cozy comfort—the hygge—of a log cabin, and also bright and airy public spaces and bedrooms, heated bathroom floors, and a professional-grade kitchen. Even each of the three en suite bathrooms has plentiful natural light.

The single-level main house has three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. A combined kitchen/dining/living area has space enough to host your entire group.

The master suite and main living area have the most expansive views of any rooms in the home. From these, look down onto burbling Fish Creek and, in the distance, out at the Gros Ventre Mountains, including the landmark Sleeping Indian. Thoughtful brass tags along the bases of the living room windows alert you to the names of the different peaks you can see.

Also in the living area, is a massive wood-burning river rock fireplace that, in a less historic home might be called oversize, but here, surrounded by old logs, is perfect. It’s not difficult to imagine a family sitting on the expansive outer hearth in the days before there was in-floor heating.

Both the junior master and the master suites have walk-in closets, king-size beds and bathrooms with double vanities. The third bedroom has two twin-size beds which can be converted into a king-size bed, a walk-in shower, and a single vanity. The master suite is in the southernmost wing of the home. The junior master suite is in the home’s northern wing, off of the kitchen area. The master has private access to a patio on the home’s southern end. This patio has a mirror image of the main interior river rock fireplace, and also a built-in grill. The bedroom suite with the twin beds has a private entrance/exit from/to the home’s yard.

Throughout the home, while log is the dominant material, white walls and an abundance of windows amplify the natural light. Open shelves and clerestory windows ensure the kitchen is bright and airy. A kitchen island has seats for five. Kitchen appliances are all Thermador.

Steps away from the main house is the guest cabin with a queen-sized bed. This is the perfect space for any visitor to rest and relax.

Although several houses share the same access road, Wilson Faces looks and feels like a secluded retreat. Neighbors are few and far between. The 38 acres of surrounding lawn, natural landscaping, and woods offer plenty of opportunities for children to play and explore without venturing far from sight.

The community of Wilson is a 5-minute drive (or 10-minute bike ride) away. Downtown Jackson and Teton Village are each about a 20-minute drive.
