Check out our 3-D Virtual Tour of the Round House at cavehillcabins. It gives you a really good idea of what to expect.
Our guests rave about the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. One of our guests said in the guestbook: “We leave here a changed people. The peace is consuming. The beauty immense. The sounds refreshing. Thank you for reviving my soul.”

About Adams County:
Adams County is one of the most beautifully scenic counties in Ohio. The Great Serpent Mound is the largest effigy mound in the country. The Amish community offers shops and tidy well kept farms. The southern boundary is the Ohio River, with gorgeous views, fishing and boating. Nature Conservancy’s Edge of Appalachia Preserve and numerous state natural areas showcase the county’s unique features.
Visit the Great Serpent Mound and its visitor center. Check out the Wheat Ridge Amish community shops and well kept farms. Travel the Quilt Barn Trail and see the rural countryside by car. Follow the ride of Confederate John Hunt Morgan and his Raiders through Adams County in 1863.
In neighboring Brown County, visit the boyhood home of US Grant in Georgetown; see where Liza reportedly crossed the Ohio River on the ice in Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Visit the Rankin House above the Ripley bluff, where lanterns hung to guide slaves escaping across the river from Kentucky.
Hike in one of the many nature preserves and natural areas in Adams County. Our favorites include Chaparral Prairie (a remnant prairie a mile away). Buzzardsroost Trail (a moderately strenuous hike in the Edge of Appalachia Preserve) and Davis Memorial Nature Preserve (features a pristine stream, high rock cliffs and a geologic fault in the cliff face).
Enjoy birding on our farm or in the nature preserves.
Fish our pond (catch and release only), the ponds in Tranquility Natural Area, Adams Lake State Park, Ohio Brush Creek or the Ohio River.
Have dinner at Murphin Ridge Inn or Moyer Winery. Murphin Ridge is an excellent restaurant in an old farm house near the Amish community. Moyer offers fine food in a dining room overlooking the Ohio River.

“Great place to stay!”
This cabin was a very nice place to get away. It's very far out a gravel road, so you have lots of privacy. We made sure to take all of our groceries so we didn't have to leave the cabin at all. They are pet friendly and we had our dog with us. She loved running around in the woods outside the cabin. Since we were there in Feb the woods were thin, but still very pretty. The cabin itself is beautiful. The layout is great, with both bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, and even has a dish washer, coffee maker, crock pot, and a gas grill. The bed we chose was very comfortable. We definitely want to come back to stay here. I would love to see it in all seasons. If you're looking for a place to get far away from the hustle and bustle this is a great place to do that!
Owner's reply: We appreciate hearing about our efforts. Thanks!
“Mary and family's Vacation”
Very Quite and relaxing environment and unique around house!!! My first impression on the road after the main road exit was "what did I get into?" I can say it was ok after I drove the second time !! but I am sure it would be rough after rain or snow without 4 wheel drive :0 The house is well furnished with baby items ,linens and dishware and even supplied spices etc. .Beds were very comfortable I believe Patty and George have a very clean , comfortable relaxing home and get away from it all !!! Hustle and bustle of daily life / only neighbors is Mother Nature!!! My kind of neighbor living close by !! The only default I did not care for was keeping the garbage in the house for a week/ I would suggest trash and recycle bins . I saw this home on the web page a few years ago and really wanted to stay there so I kept the info till we could go and we were not disappointed at all !! Thanks George for being so open and easy to work with making our vacation so relaxing / Hope to return maybe try one of his different cabins which look great also Now that we know the area and our way around . ?
We LOVED our stay at the Round House - this was my second time there and I hope there will be many more! George and Patti have made a beautiful and comfortable place. The scenery is amazing, the house is so beautiful and stocked with everything you could possibly need. I tell all my friends about Cave Hill Cabins :)
We enjoyed the quietness of the area. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We were indoors for most of the stay and could enjoy the outdoors because of the window view. We saw a woodpecker and other birds in the area.
My two sisters and I took our 16 year old niece for a long weekend getaway. The cabin was very lovely with a beautiful view. It was very clean and had everything we needed. George had met us on the gravel drive up to the cabin and was so friendly. We went sightseeing during the day and hurried back to enjoy the ambiance of the cabin. The deck has an amazing view and even though it was a bit chilly, we enjoyed sitting and relaxing. What we really liked was the authenticity of the cabin - it was not your typical cookie cutter tourist trap. If we ever are traveling to the area again, we would definitely stay there.
Owner's reply: Thanks, Jane. Glad you enjoyed the place. It's the real thing -- those logs were cut more than 150 years ago and made into a log cabin that stood less than a half mile from where it now is.
Owner Supplied Testimonials
"We enjoyed every minute spent in this place! We saw a fox, deer and a noisy woodpecker with a red head! We will definitely be coming back, maybe with the kids! This was the perfect place for our 14th anniversary celebration! Thanks!"

"Absolutely perfect cabin in a perfect setting! You truly couldn't ask for anything more! The only time we left was to hike to the cave and then to the barn with a stunning view! We loved our time here and very much look forward to returning! Thank you for allowing us to bring our dogs too!"

"This place is spectacular. It is so peaceful and beautiful. We feel so refreshed. Great Fall weather with our sweet family. We are newlyweds and enjoyed our decision with picking this lodge. Fire, reading, his wine, my tea, dogs playing in the woods, grilling out, trails, games and laughter. Couldn't have asked for a better getaway."

"Came here with my two dogs to celebrate my 40th birthday. I've never been to such a relaxing and beautiful cabin. We loved hiking through the woods and the meadow and fishing in the pond. Saw the cave, but no way were we going in it! I couldn't believe all the different kinds of fungi that are in these woods! The cabin is beautiful and everything was perfect. My body and soul feels revived, and my dogs and I hate to leave! Thank you for providing such a wonderful retreat!
