Description of the Woodstock vacation guesthouse rental
Cradled in the Evergreens of the Catskilss, this delightful cottage offers serene retreat with complete privacy on 27 acres just 2 miles from the village of Woodstock, convenient to all summer and winter attractions.

When you arrive, you'll find a choice of wine, cheese, and fruit on your dining table, and recommendations on local markets and restaurants to complete your culinary experience. You'll find an abundance of locally farmed produce and meats in the area. During the summer months, you may enjoy preparing your cornucopia grilled outside on your private patio. In the winter, let the stew simmer on the gas stove as you relax, then enjoy the fireplace while dining inside. All cookware and utensils are provided. And if you want a midnight snack, no one but your companions will hear.

During the day, windows, skylights and high ceilings provide a bright and open atmosphere. The kitchen is full service with gas stove, microwave and refrigerator. Fine teas and the best coffee I can get my hands on will be lovingly available at whatever hour you choose in your private, self serve kitchen.

We try to stay as environmentally friendly and hypo-allergenic as possible with our cleaning products and linens. Laundry facilities are also in the cottage and available for your use. There is a ceiling fan and each room is zoned separately for maximum temperature control and if you're traveling with friends or family, we do have a sleeper sofa and a queen size air mattress.
Enjoy your stay!

wooded woodstock wonderland

December 2, 2008

finding the Bed and Biscuit Cottage is a challenge worth taking - just make sure to follow their website's directions once you get to town... and once you're there, it's really lovely and peaceful and remote and private. the best part of the place: fireplace, kitchen, the deer family that come to the back terrace for b'fast, lunch & dinner, the close proximity to woodstock's quaint village, the cleanliness, the kindness of braya (caretaker), the wireless internet access (you need to turn on/off the wireless router frequently, but it quickly resets), very hot and abundant warm water, and the comfortable furnishings. the negative part of the place: no cable tv, loud & strange noises from the electric heat baseboards and the water heater, no soap or shampoo (for the rates charged, there should be at least a regular sized bar of soap provided, and some small shampoo bottles) otherwise, a really lovely place to spend a few days!
