Description from owner
Magnificent sunsets are yours from our sound
side home & garden. Being in the narrow section
of the island you are only one undeveloped lot
from the ocean. Sunrise over the ocean &
beach activities so close.
Many of our guest have told us our home was the
perfect place for their family to reconnect. That
our location gave each family member a place
they could enjoy. Whether a member preferred
the ocean or sound, it was close by.
You will cherish this time spent together, in a home
that was built when the trolley went by its front porch
but provides modern amenites.
The wrap around porch is the perfect place to rock,
read or visit with family & friends.
Swimming, fishing, sunbathing & surfing are just steps
away. Shopping, museums, golf, wineries & more
For the boater in the family, from our dock to the ocean
is clear water. No bridges or power lines.
With the 4 bedrooms, family room, kitchen/breakfast
nook, formal dining room & porch on one level, it
makes for an ideal situation with younger children
& family gathering.
The shared sound side pier is ideal to sit, read, picnic
or just sit back an enjoy the boats going by.
Our floating dock (26 feet) works well for
fishing or mooring your boat. We are just a short
boat ride from the inlet or Masonboro Island
( A natural undeveloped island) without any
bridges in your way.
We do not rent to:
FRATERNITIES & SORORITIES, HOUSE PARTIES,
SPRING BREAKS PARTIES, or other such parties
unless request is submitted in writing & approved.
There may be an increase in security deposit and
increase in rent if party is approved. We have also
had to curtail pets because of some past pet owners.
Beds: 1 Queen Bed, 2 Double Beds, 2 Twin Beds

this year we decided to try Wrightsville beach in the fall. What a great experience!Beautiful sunrises, less crowded beaches were just the ticket.
The rental agency gave us directions to the wrong unit and we walked in on a family! Great start to our vaca! The agency didn't apologize, just said, " that shouldn't have happened"- well duh! Thanks Intercoastal Rental- I really prefer doing business with folks I can praise, and who are humble enough to apologize when they make a mistake- but thank goodness- the house, beach, neighbors all of the rest of it was just wonderful!! My family has a long history at Wilmington and Writesville Beach- Sprunts- and this was a perfect place for a family reunion! Love to come back! Part of my family is Thai- -and Big Thai has great food! King Neptune was super, the grocery store across the street from Neptune was exactly what we needed- and again, the house was delightful!
“Family Memories is Right!”
this lovely historical home was the perfect place for our 6 - sister family reunion with beautiful sunsets, long walks on the beach, and easy access to restaurants. we sat on those rocking chairs and reminisced and actually did some yoga out on the dock's grassy area...miss it already! Mahalo to Rick and Mimi!!!
The home was lovely - beautifully preserved from the 1920's and positioned between the Ocean and the Inter-coastal. The kitchen was equipped for cooking, the book shelves for reading and the porch for rocking. We loved it and will go back yearly.
“We really did make Family Memories”
Perfect house if you have a family of beach lovers and fishermen in the group. The boat dock is in front of the house with a covered area, deep water, even caught a stingray by mistake while fishing off dock! The beach is a very short walk behind the house, across a narrow street. So much to do within walking distance. The owners are so very nice and accommodating in every way.
This 100+ year old house is like vacationing at grandma's and is located directly between Banks Channel and the ocean. The sunset views are amazing, and the ocean is only vacant lot away. It was the perfect spot for our boat/surf loving family. Thank you for the hospitality!
“The beach and the sound all in one”
We had a wonderful time at this old historic house; location awesome. Just cross street and you are at the sound with covered boat dock. Out the front door cross the street and you are in close walking distance to the ocean. Owners are so friendly and available. The house is old and could use some updating. There are chandliers where ceiling fans would be nice, but overall for the price, southern hospitality, and location you cannot beat it.
“Short week visit”
Nice cozy house, with great rentors. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away for a nice quiet vacation.
My sister, her son and family, and I had a great time at this location. Easy access to the beach where we found shells and sea glass entertaining the children. Excellent fishing off the dock, enough to bring home to Texas and Kentucky for a meal. Enjoyed meeting the owners at the gazebo, they were very helpful with history and information about the area. A relaxing vacation and visit to Wilmington. Thanks Rick and Mimi. Hopefully we will see you next year.
“UNCW Graduation Fabulous Experience”
I have admired this home since the early 70s and remember so well the garden and gazebo on the sound. A friend and I decided to rent it when our daughters graduated from UNCW. We had such a wonderful experience and enjoyed the home and the grounds so much. With the permission of the owners, we had a small graduation gathering on the sound side after the graduation ceremony on campus. It was a memorable event for our daughers, their friends and our families. The access to the ocean is very convenient. This is a unique home with a fascinating history. We were lucky enough to meet the owner and get details about the area and the home. We brought kayaks, a paddle board and jet ski and had great access to the sound. My friend is so impressed with the area that she is relocating to Coastal NC from PA! We will be back for another Mother's Day and another upcoming Graduation! Thanks so much for a memorable time!
