Description of the Yankeetown vacation home rental
NEW! The Historic Magnolia House is a privately owned Coastal Riverfront Estate. It is Old Florida at its finest, evoking a unique blend of newly discovered densely tropical Florida, World Traveler Character and lush Caribbean Chic style. There is a beautiful water view from every room, and the highlight just might be the second story Riverview Veranda, spanning well over 40 feet. From here, you see the Gardens and long open views of the River beyond. It's a great place to sleep in the Summer! The charming Key West Terrace provides the Front Entrance and more Garden views. Inside, you will find beautiful floors of gleaming oak planks in the main living areas and huge slabs of smooth stone in the bedrooms, there are fireplaces, ceiling fans, gorgeous antique furnishings, fine art and silver, and a slight reminiscence of vintage Hollywood Glam. The stunning Master Suite has a very sophisticated and romantic Spice Merchant's Bed Chamber theme, a luxurious King Four Poster Bed, Sitting Room with Coffee Bar, Fireplace, and a view of the Lagoon and of the River. Upon entering the adjoining restroom, you will feel as though you have been magically transported to a deserted island of Pirate era! No need for an SOS, this fantasy restroom is Johnny Depp worthy with Skull Mountain before you; it's actually a grotto shower! This craggy structure is an exquisite juxtaposition holding delicate tropical flora, fauna and waterfalls. Its secret entrance leads you into a cavernous space with a rock "bench" and an overhead shower that imitates tropical Rain Forrest conditions. The Junior Master Suite beckons the Big Game Hunter in you, with wall coverings of animal print and tooled leather. Ernest Hemingway would be inspired; one of his favorite typewriters is here and hearkens his adventurous tales. The ornate centerpiece of this room is the Queen Bed, the style of which can be seen in the Movie Cat on a Hot Tin Roof starring Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman. At the window with a river view, there is a table for two. A coffee bar is outfitted with a bar sink, stocked cabinets and mini fridge. A microwave is also provided. The private adjoining restroom completes the Suite, and offering additional space is access to The Key West Terrace, a delightful spot for morning coffee overlooking the Garden. Another bedroom is bright and bold with Caribbean inspired colors and decor. While this room is a bit smaller, it compensates with an amazing river view. More sleeping space is provided via a sofa bed in full size; The Magnolia House can comfortably sleep up to seven people, but we recommend a smaller party of four or five for optimum accommodations.

The Magnolia House is located on the West Coast of North Central Florida, just a few minutes away from Crystal River, where our guests kayak, snorkel and swim with the Manatee. World Class fishing and diving are also nearby, with many water activities and interests literally on site. Dolphin swim by regularly as do Manatee, and there is a plethora of tropical birds. Beginning in May, hopeful boaters armed with stealthy tackle arrive seeking the great Tarpon, a monstrous fish that is the epitome of Sport Fishermen's legends and dreams. The Magnolia House is located at one of the Sweetest Tarpon Honey Holes on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and many times, you will witness this battle between man and beast at first unforgettable strike. The Magnolia House is ideally situated in the Heart of The Nature Coast on the River just three unobstructed miles from Gulf of Mexico, and for the Nature Lover, it's tough to find a better vacation destination.

Beaches, Parks, Kayaking, Scalloping, Fishing (fresh and salt water guides available), Boat Launch, River Cruise Tours, Restaurants, Grocery, Fine Wine, Biking and Spa are all within 5 minutes or less of The Magnolia House. Within 20 minutes, you'll find Cafes, Bistros, Pubs and Antiquing in the Historic District, most Nationally recognized Restaurants, Golf, Entertainment, Retail Therapy, and swim with the Manatee~an amazing encounter; people from all over the world travel here for this truly unique experience. It is the number one thing our Guests love to do when visiting The Magnolia House, the only location in the Country where it is legal to swim with these Gentle Giants. "The end of the road" is just three minutes away, where locals gather at the beach to watch the spectacular Sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. Elvis Presley starred in the movie "Follow that Dream", its filming location just a few blocks away.

Twenty minutes in another direction will lead you to The Rainbow River, where you can kayak or canoe the crystal clear spring fed water in Dunnellon. Lots of options are available, including tubing in the summer. Dunnellon also offers a Historic District where you will find quaint shops and restaurants. Dunnellon's Lake Rousseau is Bass Capital of the World, and in another twenty minutes from there, you're in Ocala, the Horse Capital of the World. There are several Ranches that offer horseback riding for an hour to a day.

This Vacation Home Rental is for a 30 day period and is for the entire house on a second level. One covered parking space is provided, and one additional space is possible. Please inquire if you have a request for another time frame or special event to plan, and contact us for other Resort like waterfront options. In most cases, the Owners &/or their Representatives remain on site nearly 100% of the time for purposes of Service to our Guests, Maintenance and Security. Privacy is greatly respected and generously extended to our Guests, and is very much appreciated by the Hosts. Expect interaction only at the Greeting and Departure, or of course, at your request. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: We're flying in from Germany to swim with the Manatee! Can you tell me where you are located in proximity to Crystal River?
A: Yes, we are just 15 miles from Crystal River, it's an easy drive via a four lane highway, and takes only twenty minutes or less. Swimming with the Manatee is the number one thing our guests love to do when visiting The Magnolia House. We have a lengthy list of things to do, all water and nature related. We can even create an itinerary for you! You can then visit and know where to go, even in an unfamiliar area.
Q: We love your resort like location without all the commercial distractions, it is why we are so drawn to your property. That said, we're wondering about some conveniences; is there WIFI? Are there guided river tours & fishing excursions? Is there a cook or
A: While we love our resort like area, and many amenities are very nearby, we are a bit removed from typical city life. You will not find any "Super Marts" or Convenience Stores on every block. We are located in the Heart of The Nature Coast, and as such, you will find a vastly untouched River and Coastal habitat for wildlife. Yes, we have WIFI, guided water activities, and you can choose options for in-house meals from gourmet to casual, and one to three meals per day. An on-line means of ordering meals will be provided, and we can suggest some local eateries as well. Bring your laptop for movies.
Q: We are seeking a quiet Spiritual Retreat for ourselves and another couple. Your property looks and sounds ideal; do you have a portion of the Estate that is separate and private for our guests? Is your Estate a good choice for us as we consider FL Retre
A: Absolutely; at The Magnolia House, you can rest, reconnect, rejuvenate and renew mind, body and spirit! It's very peaceful and beautiful; you can start the day with a gourmet breakfast on the Riverview Vernada and watch the River flow by. See Dolphin, Manatee, Otters, birds and more. God's glorious creation is very evident at our property, and we have a variety of means for you to explore much more nearby.

We have a Junior Master Suite with Queen Bed that can be isolated, it has its own private entrance off The Key West Terrace. It is comprised of a bedroom with sitting area, closet with luggage nook, coffee bar with mini fridge, microwave and full restroom. It is very similar to an upscale Hotel Room, and has a view of the water.
Q: Will you rent a portion of the Estate and for a shorter period of time?
A: While we prefer to offer The Magnolia House for longer terms (30 days or more), we have other waterfront options available.
Q: We have visited the beautiful SE US before and loved it! The only drawback in most cases was a tiny biting insect called a sand gnat or noseeum; do you have those at your property also?
A: At some times of the year you will need bug spray. The little biting insect to which you refer, the sand gnat or no-see-um, is common all along the Coast of the South East United States. Unfortunately, there is no escaping them, but you can keep them away and from biting with a light spray. We have also found a few secret formulas that work very well without using chemicals!
