The Crocker Springs B&B is your country Christmas getaway. The gorgeous 1880s restored farmhouse nests on 58 acres where horses and ridges meet, and guests are greeted by a full breakfast–plus dessert if you want it–every mornin’. Chilly temps may inhibit you from climbing on that porch swing hanging from the old oak tree, but it’s a purty picture if we ever imagined one.
If you’d prefer your Southern hospitality in the form of live performers, visit the Grand Ole’ Opry for its Radio City Christmas Spectacular through Dec. 27 for those leggy ladies known as the Rockettes and their accompanying light displays and 100-member crew. For a more intimate, old-school Opry setting, reserve a table for dinner for Louise Mandrell’s “Joy to the World” show in the Delta Ballroom. Yes, that’s Louise Mandrell, the middle sister of the Mandrell powerhouse whose website headshot still manages to make her look like a cougar.
Valerie Moloney is your resident blogger and the Expansion Markets Editor for Citysearch.com, who oddly enough, feels panicked when asked, "What's the best place to eat in Chicago?" or her favorite, "It's my birthday. Where should we go with a party of six?" No stranger to travel--and traveling with kids--she is a young mom who ODs on the Internet when it comes to planning family trips or buying clothes. Here's hoping she finds you the vacation you deserve.
