Please note: The living room fireplace is not usable at this time.
Enjoy the solitude of the mountains at Primrose Cabin. Nestled into a private neighborhood at Riverwalk along the Cane River in Burnsville, this house offers seclusion and natural amenities. Ease into your morning on the front porch, sipping coffee or tea as you rock, watching the sun peak over the mountain tops and illuminate the valley. Continue your simple morning by venturing down to the community park to trout fish or swim in the river - or a relaxing soak in the hot tub at the house.
Inside find a well-equipped cabin with two sleeping spaces. A private master bedroom with a queen bed and access to full hall bath, and a loft with a king bed and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. The king bed can be transitioned to two twin beds upon request and depending on availability. We cannot guarantee the bed conversion if the reservation isn't made with advance notice. Simply specify your preference when booking the reservation. Enjoy baseboard heat and mini split or window AC units in either of the spaces. A Pack-n-Play portable crib is available upon request. The kitchen is equipped with the basic cooking essentials: including a drip coffee maker, basic cookware, and all necessary flatware. A blast from the past, bring your favorite DVDs for movie night in the living room, as the TV has local channels only.
Start your morning out at Appalachian Java in downtown Burnsville with a southwest burrito and a cappuccino. After breakfast head out for a hike on the Appalachian trail starting at the access points at Sam’s Gap or Spivey Gap - just under 40 minutes from the property - or up to Mount Mitchell - the highest point in the Eastern Continental U.S. - via the Blue Ridge Parkway. Return to Burnsville for a late lunch at Hog Hollow Wood-fired Pizza and Homeplace Brewing. Share slices of their specialty pizzas, like a Greek Chicken, or their fresh made sandwiches over some locally brewed ales. At night, return to the community park for a bonfire, as the fireplace is not usable at this time. Roast s’mores and enjoy the night air as you swap stories of the days adventure and adventures past.
If you’ve exhausted Burnsville’s offerings, travel an hour down the highway to Asheville - where you can enjoy several James Beard nominated restaurants and the booming beer scene. Take a walk down the newly completed greenway in the River Arts District and visit the galleries of local artisans. Spend a day at the Biltmore Estate - touring the historical Home, it’s grounds and gardens, and the award winning winery - before settling back in at the comforts of Primrose Cabin.
Linens (sheets and towels) are provided for your convenience. This house is pet friendly with an additional fee. 2-wheel drive vehicles are usually adequate to get to and from the cabins to the state road. As of mid December 2020, the living room fireplace CANNOT be used.
