Description from manager
PRIVATE STRUCTURE. Between the unspoilt areas of the park of Mount Subasio, home of St. Francis of Assisi, and the park of Colfiorito, overlooking the Valtopina, within a former hunting reserve, stands Villa delle Ginestre, bordered upstream by a large olive grove, laterally by a romantic spring-fed pond and downstream by a well-kept orchard, surrounded in turn by woods of centuries-old oak trees. This valley takes its name from the river Topino - mentioned by Dante Alighieri in his Divine Comedy - which, with its placid waters, flows a few dozen metres from the entrance gate to the property and has been known since the times of the ancient Romans, of which remain still today interesting evidence of the ancient via Flaminia, the first, and for many centuries the only, road link between Rome and Rimini and thence to northern Italy. The villa, built in the early '90s, was designed with modern criteria and design solutions best expressed in the bright staggered spaces and in the large windows of the living area: a veritable conservatory embellished by a beautiful bougainvillea and a fucsia which together create the pleasant sensation of being at one with the surrounding nature. The furnishings and finishing touches, especially the fine wood parquet flooring and the loft in the living area were hand crafted by an expert local artisan while in the sleeping area various antique pieces have been inserted, creating a pleasant and harmonious fusion between past and present. The splendid garden with its various outdoor areas for dining and relaxing and the large pool of original shape were designed as living spaces for all hours of the day. The convenient and quiet location in which Villa delle Ginestre is located, well connected via the highway to the most beautiful old medieval town centres of Umbria, such as Spoleto, Assisi, Montefalco, Trevi, Bevagna, Todi and Perugia, will give you a holiday divided between complete relaxation and moments dedicated to outdoor activities, to art and to food and wine. There is a grocery shop, also open on Sunday morning, in Pontecentesimo (1 km); other services and shops can be found in Valtopina (5 km).
Additional amenities: Air conditioning in the bedrooms, American coffee machine, Security System, baby cot, books and magazines, external video surveillance system, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, mobile barbecue, moka, sockets adapter, squeezer, wood oven
