A charming mix of laid-back comfort and Tuscan furniture gives the house a warm and friendly atmosphere. The open kitchen’s living area leads directly onto the garden terrace through French doors. An outdoors and an indoors dining table make for pleasant family dinners and cooking events. A wood burning oven can be used for pizza meals or baking your own bread. Two bathrooms have a shower, one bathroom has a tub.
Casale belongs to the son of one of the owners. He has transformed the former stables of his house into a comfortable house with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. He is a painter and the house has an artistic touch to it which makes it different from the other houses on the estate. The vicinity between the house belonging to the owner and the former stables does not preclude the privacy of both houses. A difference in level of the ground separates both buildings effectively.
Casale has been completely refurbished in 2009 and has become a perfect retreat for family holidays; heaven for children, with a swing in the garden and a pool shared with the owners 3 children.
Here you will find space, lightness and essential furnishing, an assemblage put together by the owner and his wife over the last years. At the centre of the house are the kitchen and the large living room, both overlooking the Orcia Valley - a view which will never stop giving you strong impressions.
In the garden there’s a table for meals outside. Paths leading from the house invite you to wonderful walks through the property and beyond. The guests can also use the tennis court of the main farmhouse which is reached in 3 minutes by car. Casale is reached over a dust road (1 km) and lies about 300 m south of a small family restaurant, where the guests can have dinner three times a week.
This house belongs to a a large property which extends over the hills overlooking the Val d'Orcia, an enchanting and miraculously unspoilt valley in southern Tuscany, listed as UNESCO world heritage in 2004. Midway between Florence and Rome, the estate is also within easy reach of Siena, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi and Orvieto. Renaissance and medieval gems such as Pienza, Montepulciano, Monticchiello and Montalcino and the Abbey of Sant'Antimo are only a few miles away from the houses you can rent at the property.
The countryside around the estate abounds in lovely walks in the woods and the typical "crete senesi" (clay hills) of the region. The food is considered the best in Tuscany and famous wines such as the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino can be sampled in the local cellars.
