A little history…

William Nelson “Buster” Camp Jr. was the youngest of 8 brothers & 2 sisters and was raised in Ocala, Florida. The Camp family were turn of the century industrialists who made their fortune in phosphate mining & timbering in Florida & Virginia. Buster chose this area to carve out his summer retreat because of the incredible views, abundance of large rocks, bold stream and natural beauty. Starting in 1926 Buster designed and spent many years building his dream. The property was constructed by local craftsmen using hand cut logs, dry stack stone and featured a water powered turbine which allowed him to build the first home to have electricity on the mountain. The current owners have spent the last 35 years painstakingly renovating the property, adding a log home next to one of the waterfalls 25 years ago.

What You Can Expect

A unique one of a kind property, Laurel Falls offers you the opportunity to craft your own experience. The homes and land fit naturally into the contours of the mountain. The vision of what William Nelson Camp designed and created over 90 years ago lives on today fully protected under national and local conservation agreements. When you are walking on this property you're following in the footsteps of many others who appreciate the natural world in all of its beauty.
