Description from manager
Enjoying gorgeous views of the sea and surrounding islands, the magnificent villa sets you just a short drive from the city of Split and the beaches of the Dalmatian Coast. This beautiful villa, built by the owner himself, has lots to look forward to, including a heated outdoor pool and a luxurious hot tub.
In the peaceful setting of Gornje Sitno, the villa occupies a quiet, elevated position close to mountain trails, yet is just a short walk from the nearest shop and restaurants. The outdoor terrace is sure to see plenty of you, day and night, with the 36 sq m pool surrounded by sun loungers and accompanied by an outdoor shower. The area is particularly enchanting when lit in the evening, with the hot tub enjoying a very special view out to the Adriatic Sea.
A covered terrace situated between the pool and the indoor living area gives you a lovely place to dine while enjoying the views and the sunshine, and there’s even a hammock to chill out in. A children’s play area, barbecue and a seating area on the upper terrace add yet more charm to villa – and you may also get to enjoy the super-local, fresh produce of the vegetable garden.
Inside, you have a living room with fireplace, TV and sofa-bed, and a comfortable dining area with seating for six. The kitchen is just steps away, and provides a large fridge freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine and everything else you may need. There is also a bathroom on the ground floor.
Upstairs, you have two double bedrooms and a twin room with bunk beds, as well as another bathroom and the upper terrace –a fine place from which to watch the sun set, and with space to sit down for a drink too.
Just over 20 minutes’ drive away, the city of Split is likely to be one of your must-do excursions, with its historic icons, beautiful parks and romantic waterfront among the many reasons to visit. Not too far east, you also have the riverside town of Omiš, full of thrilling sporting adventures and with great beaches along the coast in both directions.
Croatia’s second city, Split rivals many capitals when it comes to historic and cultural must-sees. Likely to be on your list are Diocletian’s Palace and Saint Domnius’ Cathedral, but there is so much more, with no shortage of beautiful squares and buildings, plus the Riva waterfront and breathtaking Marjan Hills. The coast which stretches out east of the city has many more delights in store, including scenic Stobreč and Jesenice.
Perched on the Adriatic, Split boasts beautiful sunsets, exciting cuisine, great art and tons of history. Among its big draws are the Split Gallery of Fine Arts, Archaeological Museum and the Mestrovic Gallery, showcasing the work of the country’s greatest sculptor.
Right on the tip of the peninsula, the expansive green spaces of the Marjan Forest Park are another great reason to visit, while tours out to see the wonderful waterfalls of Krka are also justly popular. The Roman ruins of Diocletian’s Palace are perhaps the Split’s best-known attraction, and guided walking tours of this and other local landmarks are a great way to get a feel for the city. Look out too for Republic Square, where many cultural events take place, and Split’s main beach, Bacvice. You will probably spot some people standing in the water playing the famous local ball game, Picigin.
Within a 30-minute drive of the city are Stobreč, Podstrana and Jesenice. All are worth stopping for – as the beauty of the Adriatic is always worth admiring. Look out for the wooden ships at Jesenice, which can take you on a pleasurable journey, perhaps towards nearby Omiš or the island of Brač. If you make it to Omiš, just a little further, you’ll be in the adrenaline sports capital of the area, with spectacular zip-wire and water-sports adventures all part of this historic town’s modern-day appeal.
