The barn conversion is set in a beautiful 22-acre smallholding deep in the Shropshire countryside. The owners can offer eggs and home-grown vegetables from their farmhouse door, and visitors will love the sheep and chickens which are reared on the busy smallholding. The holiday property features a lovely fenced-in garden, which is perfect for outdoor dining. Visitors to The Wainscott are also offered the use of a year-round tennis court plus the chance for some coarse fishing on a nearby one-acre pond.

Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Town: Three of Shropshire's loveliest hills Stiperstones, Caradoc and the Long Mynd are close to the hamlet of Great Lyth. This is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and visitors can enjoy its attractions in a variety of ways, from rambling or riding to touring by car. There is plenty for the entire family to enjoy here, and famous local attractions include the Wroxeter Roman City, Stokesay Castle and Ironbridge World Heritage Centre. Shrewsbury, with its shops, pubs, restaurants, pubs and riverside beautiful architecture, is just five miles away. Shrewsbury Abbey and Castle, and the lovely riverside walks, are also immensely popular.
