Description from manager

PRIVATE STRUCTURE. Podere Alloccara is an old rural building situated two kilometres from Monteleone d'Orvieto, a small but charming medieval borgo nestled among the hills that divide the area of Orvieto in Umbria from the borgo of Città della Pieve, in a fabulous panoramic position overlooking the Val di Chiana. The charm and warmth of old rural farmhouses have been revived within its austere exposed-stone structure, thanks to the preservation of the ceilings with their old wooden beams, to the living rooms with the original terracotta floors and sandstone fireplaces, to the traditional décor to which have been added the comforts of modern houses: well-equipped kitchen, large air-conditioned bedrooms, wi-fi connection, satellite TV, a well-kept, equipped park with a beautiful pool surrounded by the silver of the olive trees and by rows of vines in the property which produce a delicious wine with the Orvieto DOC label. You can alternate your relaxing, restful stay with numerous food and wine, archaeological and cultural itineraries exploring prestigious art cities and little old villages, all within easy reach thanks to the excellent location between the Tuscan and Umbrian borders and just 5 km from the A1 motorway, the Autostrada del Sole.

Additional amenities include: air conditioning in the living room (1st floor) and in the bedrooms, moka coffee machine, baby cot, mosquito screens, american coffee machine, iron and ironing board, wood oven, movable barbecue.

About the area

Its central location and proximity to the A1 motorway exit of Fabro make Podere Alloccara a good starting point for exploring the artistic and natural beauties of both Tuscany and Umbria. Cities considered real open-air museums, such as Siena, Arezzo, Perugia and Orvieto are all less than one hour’s drive away, as are the gentle hills of the Val d'Orcia, with beautiful borghi like Pienza and Montalcino, and the placid shores of Lake Trasimeno. Short trips will take you to many of the most famous medieval villages of southern Tuscany such as Cortona and Montepulciano, famous for its excellent wines, as well as to spa resorts where you can enjoy hours of relaxation including San Casciano dei Bagni and Chianciano Terme. The railway station of Fabro, located just 10 minutes away by car, on the Florence-Rome line makes visits to these two cities very easy.
