Great place for our family vacation

“ Excellent ”
February 18, 2015
This review is going to be lengthy, but I feel it will be helpful to others since the only review I found was one about noisy dogs. First, we never heard any barking. So that was a relief for us since we assumed we would. Finding and entrance to the house was easy. It IS on a busy road which didn't bother us (there is a fence all around the yard and house) except for at night. My husband just put ear plugs in, but since we had our kids with us I felt that one of us should have an ear out for them. I am a light sleeper so beeps and engines revving woke me up. The layout of the house was perfect for us. There is a "kid room" that our kids slept in every night. They folded the futons down and slid them together to make one big bed. This area was so nice because the kids would want to watch their own movie and we could close the sliding doors and both have privacy. The room is also supplied with art items, puzzles, books, and a few toys. The kitchen had enough dishes, cups, pans. We had gone to Walmart before first getting to the house and I wish we hadn't because there were lots of seasonings and condiments we ended up having double of. We did end up getting disposable cups so we could be a little more lazy. They had a great BBQ grill outside and we grilled almost every night. I loved how this house was accommodating to families! They had pool toys, beach chairs, kayaks, an umbrella, a wagon, and beach toys. I was very grateful for that so that we wouldn't have to buy things for just our stay. We rented a van and I'm glad we did. There is a little parking lot down the road that you can walk to where guys are fishing and you can throw rocks, but it isn't "the beach." The beach is about a 10 min drive from the house. The beach is GORGEOUS! We had a lot of fun building sand castles, finding shells, and braving the chilly water. There is a grocery store that's about a 3 min drive from the house that has all your needs. Although minor, there were a few things the house needed some attention with. I found that the laundry room flooded. We had someone come out and check it and it seemed fine for a while, but then went back to flooding. The master bathroom handle stuck down when you flushed and the lightbulbs in all the ceiling fans were out. Maybe having a supply of lightbulbs in a drawer would be helpful. This stay was amazing! My husband, kids, and I would do it again for sure! I wish there was a 4 1/2 star choice. I would've picked that!
