Fabulous getaway from rat race!!!

“ Excellent ”
September 22, 2014
After a fabulous US West coast road trip and a few days in the enjoyable bustle of Vancouver my Wife and I were ready for a good few days in a secluded cabin away from it all. My wife had always wanted to stay in a log cabin by a lake. That picture postcard image we all know. However, we were not expecting it to be SOOOO picture postcard.........it was AWESOME!!! The cabin is brilliantly tucked away, on it's own land, and has everything you need for a week or more, to get totally away from the rat race. It was clean, very comfortable, and had all the facilities that you have at home but would not necessarily expect in a log cabin. The open plan and homely decor gives the cabin a very traditional feel. It has a great stove, kitchen, bathroom and fab sleeping balcony. Great use of large windows allows natural light in, and no matter what the weather outside, it was always homely and cosy inside. Location is superb, with Pemberton so close (and having everything you need), and lakes, glaciers, and numerous walks all to hand. The creek just below the cabin is something to see and so close, and the beach down on the lake looks like from another time and age with its washed up and bleached trees and branches. Joffre Lakes is a must and Matier Glacier at the top lake is out of this world. We were speechless when we saw the cabin at first......it is quite a sight as you drive up and around the corner and see it in front of you. As the days went on we relaxed so much we didn't do anything for 4 days apart from sit outside, read, bbq, admire the view, then in the evening get the stove burning and watch a dvd. If you are looking for that true 'drop out of society' getaway then this place is where you need to go. We had met the owner in Vancouver prior to arriving and found him to be a very genuine and very helpful chap, offering to be on the end of a phone call whenever required. We had a fantastic stay here. Without doubt we would stay here again. Perhaps it needs a name...............'Cinnamon Cabin', as we were told that Cinnamon bears roam around the woods. It has everything else. Totally......utterly.......without hesitation recommend this cabin.
