Set on a promontory inside a farm estate which grows the top quality grapes that produce the red and inimitable Nobile di Montepulciano, the Casa di Bacco stands guard over a landscape where the elegant geometry of the vineyards cover the rolling hills of Siena, offering a stunning setting, embellished by the scents and colours of the unique green Val di Chiana, that stretches as far as the eye can see to the borgo of Montepulciano. Originally an old farmhouse that has been finely renovated, this house built in brick fully reflects the traditional Tuscan architecture and is ideal for groups of people who want to share the spacious common areas yet, at the same time, have their own private space. The house has a living room with fully-equipped kitchen and eight elegant bedrooms, divided into different units, classically furnished with air conditioning, satellite TV, mini-bar and each with private bathroom, four with hydromassage tub. Outside, in the beautiful and extensive garden, shaded by a screen of Mediterranean pines arranged in a ring around the house, guests can relax in the atmosphere of the countryside, with the gazebo set up for living outdoors and the pool with its Jacuzzi tub. A sojourn in this exclusive property, in the midst of an area of great artistic and landscape interest, will allow you to organize visits to the art cities and little historical towns, both in Tuscany and neighbouring Umbria, with reinvigorating breaks at the many spa resorts in the vicinity (Montepulciano, Rapolano and Chianciano Terme), which represent the peak of excellence in this part of Tuscany.

Interior

The house has two floors and is divided into a common area and into 4 units (all part of the same structure), each with separate entrance and not connected internally. The main entrance opens into the living room, consisting of conversation area with TV and dining area that leads on to the kitchen which is connected to a toilet with washing machine. All the rooms have access to the garden. UNIT 1. The entrance to this unit is next to the main entrance; it is composed of a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower (acessible for the disabled). UNIT 2. Next to the entrance of the first unit, it is composed of a double bedroom, with ensuite bathroom with whirlpool tub (and tassel for shower), and a living room with fireplace, double sofa bed and a kitchenette. A flight of stairs at the front of the house leads up to the first floor with the last two units. UNIT 3 consists of four double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, one with shower and three with hydromassage tub (and tassel for shower). UNIT 4 has two double bedrooms (one with double sofa bed) with private bathroom with shower.

Park

The house stands in a farm estate which extends for about 25 ha, composed for the most part of the vineyards bordered at the end by woods. The park, for the exclusive use of the guests and accessed along a short, elegant driveway flanked by cypress trees, consists of a large, beautiful garden of 6000 sqm where cypresses, olives and a row of shady Mediterranean pines surrounding the whole house alternate with potted geraniums and colourful bushes of broom, lavender and rosemary. At the back of the house, is the outdoor area: a gazebo, furnished with tables and chairs. There is a parking area at the end of the driveway.

Swimming Pool

The rectangular pool is set in a discreet position overlooking the vineyards. It is 15m from the house and is reached down a flight of cotta steps bordered with oleanders next to the gazebo. The pool is lined in PVC with travertine border and measures 8x18 m with a constant depth of 1.50 m. Along the side with the steps for access to the water is the Jacuzzi tub with internal seats. It has chlorine purification and internal and external lighting. In the sunbathing area, paved in terracotta and embellished with a green wall of lavender bushes, are sunbeds, deckchairs, umbrellas and a solar-powered shower. It is available to guests from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.

About the area

The villa is just few km away from the small Renaissance town of Montepulciano, known principally for its imposing Renaissance buildings, for the beauty of its churches and for the “Vino Nobile”. The strategic position of Montepulciano, a spur 605 metres above sea level between the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana. The A1 motorway exits of Chiusi/Chianciano Terme (coming from south) and Valdichiana (coming from north) are only 20 km away and so cities like Florence, Siena, Orvieto and Rome can be easily reached. The motorway is not needed to visit the nearby villages of Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona, Sarteano and the close by Umbria region. The best served and most important railway station is that of Chiusi which is 20 km.
