Description from manager

"In a central location at the heart of the quaint town of Riberac, this 18th century former Mayor's residence is a veritable oasis just steps away from shops, restaurants and market."
Within a few minutes' drive is the sandy beach of Lake Jemaye offering a range of water sports, whilst horse riding, canoeing, tennis, fishing and cycling are all available locally along the river Dronne.Furnished with a tasteful combination of antiques and period furniture, this imposing town house has a relaxing atmosphere with bright, individually appointed rooms. The enclosed garden is great for children to explore and the large games room is well equipped to keep them happy, whilst the adults relax or sunbathe on the pool terrace. In this charming setting you can fully immerse yourself in the typical lifestyle of a French country town' everything from morning croissants and coffee to a lovely evening meal are just a pleasant stroll away. The Perigord region is renowned for its lovely vine-clad valleys crisscrossed by countless rivers, excellent wine, fois gras and truffles.

Riberac itself is a beautiful place to stay, not only for its historic buildings and fountains but also for its lively atmosphere all-year-round. Food-lovers will enjoy food fairs and festivals organised in the town during the summer months, to sample the excellent wines, fois gras, truffles and delicious Perigord Noir ham produced in the region. Antique fairs, music concerts and firework displays are also an appealing attraction.

Only a short drive from Riberac is Brantome, often referred to as the 'Venice of the Dordogne', which boasts a stunning church cut into the mountain side, a glass blowing factory and romantic riverside walks. Another gem of the Perigord region is the medieval town of Sarlat, whose cobbled streets and narrow alleyways crammed with shops, ancient houses and restaurants are certainly worth a visit. Chateaux, prehistoric caves and ornamental gardens abound in this region and greatly contribute to the well-deserved fame of Dordogne.
