We had the most relaxing vacation we have had in a long time. The views were stunning and the area was so peaceful. It wasn't until we walked down to the river did we know there were other cabins around. Our cabin was wonderful. Just the right size for the 2 of us. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Can't wait until we can return.
Sundance was absolutely beautiful. The location is amazing and the view is stunning. It had everything we needed and it was incredibly relaxing. The walk to the river is a bit further than expected but manageable. It is conveniently located between Front Royal and Luray for lots of activity choices. We loved the hot tub and just sitting out on the massive deck watching the mountains. The only less than perfect note is that the stairs on the deck are quite slippery when wet. As we had some rain, the steps were wet and resulted in a couple of slips even with hiking shoes on. Other than that note, everything was incredible. We would absolutely return!
Owner's reply: We are glad you enjoyed Sundance so much. Since your stay we have scrubbed the steps to take care of the slippery surface. We hope you can come again soon to enjoy the Shenandoah Valley and Sundance.
“A relaxing stay amongst the mountains and river”
We stayed at the Sundance for a week (which definitely was not enough time!) and loved it. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and provided us with everything we needed in the cabin for a pleasant stay. The hot tub was a bonus, as well as the information about the national park hikes. Our puppy loved to romp around in the woods and swim in the river. My husband did a little fishing/swimming, and I relaxed on the lawn chairs provided near the river (with a great bonfire area!). Back at the cabin, there's a great charcoal grill and plenty of space to eat on the deck overlooking the beautiful mountains. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay! -Tracey, Mike, and Maisie
We absolutely loved our trip to Sundance! The overall trip was one of the most memorable times we have shared together. The views from the cabin were so breathtaking! We enjoyed breakfast on the deck in the morning sun, and a campfire by the river in the evening! We cooked delicious meals on the grill and in the kitchen! We visited the Luray caverns, and really enjoyed walking around in the towns of Luray and Front Royal. Everyone we met in town was so friendly! The cabin exceeded our expectations in so many ways! Derek was friendly and very easy to work with in the booking process, he even left us freshly baked chocolate chip cookies upon our arrival! We couldn't have been more pleased and will be back in November! Thank you so much Derek, and Woodside Cabins for giving us an amazing time!
Nestled in the trees, this space provides complete relaxation. It is situated high enough to allow an incredible view of the mountains and tree tops and peek at the Shenandoah River. The hike down and back to the river is refreshing. Sitting on the porch allows a 180 degree view of lightening flashing miles off. A blast from the past was catching the show that the lightening bugs gave every night. The cabin itself is warm and inviting. Just the right amount of space for 2 adults. Very modern all conveniences and no work. Owner is quick to respond to any call placed with questions or needs. The week couldn't have been better.
Sundance was absolutely gorgeous. Clean, bright, beautiful view of the Shenandoah mountains and the river. Will definitely be returning!
“Cabin overlooking mountains!”
This place was absolutely clean and well-maintained. I loved all of the extra amenities like WiFi, the DVD selection, and, most importantly, the very nice ipod dock and sound system! It is great for a couple's get away. The hot tub was hot and ready when we arrived. The porch, bedroom, living room, and kitchen are all looking out toward the mountain landscape - amazing view! A walk down to the river front. FYI - there are no curtains in the bedroom which steps out onto the porch which may be weird for friends and family, but perfect for a couple. We would love to come back again.
Owner's reply: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The views are so spectacular from the bedroom at Sundance that we decided to put curtains only on the windows. With the privacy the deck offers we thought waking to that gorgeous view was so much more satisfying without curtains on the sliding glass door. Thank you for coming to our cabin in the mountains.
This cabin is very clean and new. It has views from the deck with a hot tub, a walk to the river where you'll find chairs and a fire pit, close proximity to hiking in the Shenandoah National Park and touring Luray Cavern. There is a full kitchen, dishwasher, stackable washer and dryer, large walk in shower, gas fireplace, wireless internet and a hot tub. We enjoyed our four night stay over Thanksgiving and had wonderful weather. You'll feel secluded like a cabin but have the luxuries of a home.
“Wonderful Long Weekend!”
The pictures do not do Sundance justice! This cabin is amazing. The mountain views are absolutely stunning! We woke up to them every morning right outside the bedroom. And you see the mountains no matter where you are in the cabin. Sundance is very secluded and just what we were looking for. Lots of privacy! Something they don't mention is the shower! It's great! A huge walk-in, open, all tile shower with a rain-type shower head. Perfect for hopping into right after hopping out of the hot tub! And the town around the cabin is so quiet and quaint. I daydreamed about retiring to a little mountain town like that. But it isn't too secluded. Only an 8 mile drive away from Sundance gets you to a Wal-mart and Food Lion in case there is something you forgot at home! We completely loved our stay and hope we get the chance to go back again! We would recommend this cabin to anyone!
Owner's reply: Ashleigh, I am delighted you enjoyed your time at Sundance. Your words express exactly what I had in mind when I designed the cabin. I never wanted our guest to lose sight of that fantastic view no matter where they wandered in the cabin. I hope you can come and enjoy the beauty of the valley again soon. Thank you, Derek
“Breathtaking views, beautiful house, amazing stay”
My husband and I came to this cabin to get away for a couple of days. The house was great! It was new, clean & perfect! Loved having a full service kitchen to cook in and the fire place was just what we needed morning and/or evening! The hot tub was very enjoyable, the weather was perfect for it. The view from the deck (where the hot tub is) was just absolutely amazing. We enjoyed our walks to the river which was a great scenery to take lots of pics. The cabin is relatively close to Skyline Drive, which was stunning at this time of year! We didn't get to do Luray Caverns (which is 7 miles from the cabin) but it's on our list next time when we bring our daughter! We enjoyed a great meal at Artisan's Grill in the Town of Luray. This stay was perfect for us, enjoyed one another company with no close by neighbors or road noise, just the silence of nature!! We will definitely be back again next year!
