A beautiful four bedroom property on Koh Samui's northern coast, set in an exclusive residential community within its own walled and private landscaped gardens. The villa offers its guests a large, private lap pool, home theatre room plus personal access to the golden Maenam beach, yet is within short driving distances to some of the island's top attractions.
The villa's landscaped grounds are planted with tropical trees and flowering shrubs, providing natural boundaries between the three pavilions which together form the living and sleeping areas of the villa. It is just a 20-minute drive from Maenam to the airport and to Chaweng, the main tourist attraction of the north, and just 10 minutes to Bophut and the fascinating "Fisherman's Village", and the Santiburi golf and country club.
The property consists of three pavilions around a central garden, and a large private swimming pool set at the beach end of the pavilions, and an adjacent sala. Natural wood, sandstone and marble are used throughout the villa, and there are scattered artefacts, wall art and landscape features to enhance the surroundings. The decor and furnishings are in light and natural colours, and the large rooms with their glass walls give the whole property a bright and airy feel. There is Wi-Fi internet access throughout the villa, split wall-mounted air conditioning units to all bedrooms, living, dining areas and the kitchen. In addition, there are ceiling fans to all bedrooms, the living room, home theatre / open air lounge and the sala.
Entering the grounds through the large double antique doors, the first pavilion on the left contains two twin-bedded guest suites. Each bedroom has two single beds, teak flooring, walk-in closets and slide-away glass doors onto the terracotta sand wash covered walkway, which connects with the other pavilions. Both en suites are marble floored and house a huge (two person) bathtub, twin hand basins, and a walk-in shower. Further on and to the left is the private gym, with multi-purpose equipment, cross trainer and stationary bike.
Follow the walkway around past the gym and next is the second sleeping pavilion, housing a master double-bed guest suite. This room has teak flooring, a vaulted timber ceiling, walk-in closet, desk / make up counter, and its own dedicated satellite TV/DVD system. The en suite has marble flooring, twin hand basins, and a two-person bathtub, as well as walk-in shower. The pavilion after this on the left is retained by the owners and remains closed. There is a garden bathroom between the second guest bedroom suite and this pavilion.
On the right hand side of the property's grounds is the large living and dining pavilion. The kitchen is at the rear of the pavilion, close to the villa's entrance, and is a well-appointed, full-fitted European style kitchen. This leads directly to the open plan living and dining rooms. There is a large, teak dining table with seating for 10, wood panelled walls and a vaulted timber ceiling in the dining room, and from here there is access to a guest bathroom.
Beyond the dining room is the living room, with opulent and comfortable seating from which to view the satellite TV/DVD system. The sitting area opens onto the home theatre room / open air lounge, which has an electrically operated screen and ceiling mounted projector, plus more comfortable seating arrangements. This room has a stereo system, compatible for iPod or laptop connection, plus a bar with its own sink and fridge.
The beachfront sala and pool are at the far end of the villa, just beyond the home theatre / open air lounge. The sala is furnished with sun beds, a table and chairs for al fresco dining, a barbecue, and outdoor speakers. What a good place for evening socialising and entertaining, sipping those cooled cocktails while the sun slips into the sea! The pool has a shallow end of 0.90m deepening to 1.60m, and is salt water chlorinated. The views from the pool across the small lawn out to the beach are in the direction of the island of Koh Phangan - and it would be hard to improve on them. The private entrance to the beach is across the lawn, as is the garden shower, set against a stone wall, for guests to wash off the beach sand before dipping once again into the pool or slipping onto a sun bed. The beach is quiet, has soft, golden sand, and offers good swimming conditions.
